Are CSM's considered the number one servants by the Ruinous Powers? Could they be commanded by others deemed blessed by the Warp?

I ask because in writing some fluff for a CSM warband, it developed into a more complicated concept. The idea being the warband are infamous pirates within a sector, dangerous but hardly the number one threat to the Imperium in the region. However they are only part of a secretive cult led by a highly psykic xeno race. It is their intention to 'birth' a powerful daemon in the real world, a creature they have worshipped as their god for a very long time (indeed he may be a lesser Chaos god like Malice). To this end the warband's attacks are often targeted to capture various Chaos artifacts or tomes for the xenos.

Would Chaos Marines, even ones loyal to said powerful daemon, willingly act as subordinates to mere 'mortals' like these xenos, who I imagine as effectively a priest-sorceror class for the daemon's cult? I assumed so based on the idea the aliens have a very special connection with Warp magic, and so the CSM would recognise their leadership, at least in birthing the daemon. Or are the CSM so valued by the Big Guys they would immideately take control of such an operation?

Oh What a Lovely War.

A non-Astartes Champion of one or more Ruinous Powers might be afforded great respect if that Champion's accomplishments are particularly famed, or otherwise impressive.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

I highly doubt they'd be subordinate. They might work together though. What is the actual reason the CSM are working for the xenos?
