I have dark angels from the dark vengeance box set and they are all painted dark angels color. I could convert them to space marines but i am wondering if i should just stick with DA or make the switch. I have an ork army that is fairly troop and bike heavy so kinda wanted to go a bit more mechanized with the DA

I would say stick with Dark Angels, however if you look at my sig you can tell I might be a bit biased. That being said Ravenwing are amazing on their own in friendly games, if you want to run all ravenwing for tourneys i would suggest searching for the list that won the NOVA open this year, Aaron Aleong's Thunderdome. I'm not saying you can't win tourneys with pure Ravenwing but them thunderwolves though.... I have had a ton of fun running an all Ravenwing deathstar with just Sammael, BlackKnight command squad, Chaplain on bike and Librarian on bike. We had to do our own little house ruling for the ravenwing strike force hq slots, but the writing is on the wall for that one.

Depends. Regular SM have a ton more options, especially if you go the non-bike route. DA do okay mechanized, but their biggest strengths come from the RW and all their bonuses.

If you really love DA, then I would paint them as such, and run them as a successor chapter using the SM codex.

As a DA player myself, I love them, but the regular guys got nothing and the Ravenwing got buffed to hell and back.
