Hey all,

I am wanting to get some photo's of my armies on parade board & some of my larger terrain models but I can't seem to find any larger backdrops that will work for what I need. Ideally, I'd like to find something that looks similar to the ones GW uses on their box art (the yellow / orange gradient with obscure smoke & buildings in the background.)

The only thing I can think of right now is to create a high res image on my computer and go to one of those sign printing shops to see if they could make something big enough.

Thoughts?

I... actually don't know. Help?

Sounds good. Could you drop by Sweden and fix one for me?

Have a look at aquarium stores. They will quite often sell rolls of printed sheeting backdrop that look like cliffs, skies, castle walls, etc. If you go online you can get landscapes, sunsets, gradients, all kinds of things.

How big of a backdrop do you need?

Look up B&H photo supplies, then search for back drops or gradient paper, they're in NY.

I got the 43x63 black to white flow tone, it does scratch when I photograph my ceramics, but no big deal if used for miniatures. You can see my gallery for examples; I used a good standard canon digital camera, 3 light sources, then clean/crop it up on photoshop.

You also need something like this:

Thanks for the tips guys,

I looked at the aquarium backdrops but found most of them to be too realistic for what i'm trying to do. Not sure if that makes sense, but i'm really just looking for somewhat simple gradient background White - yellow - orange - dark brown - black with some subtle clouds. I mocked something up that i'm going to try to take to a sign printer and see how it goes. Hoping I can get something that's about 3ft wide, 2.5ft tall.

In the meantime, I did find a site that had some higher quality backdrops online if anyone else was interested.
