Warhammer 40k Tournament
Sunday November 15th, 2015 - 9:30 am
Onsite Registration opens at 9:00am. First dice at 9:30am.
Preregistration is open



1850 points
Tournament will be 3 Rounds at 2.5 hours each.
We will be using the Adepticon Maelstrom cards.
Event is limited to 20 players, please reserve early.
Entry Fee: $20.00
Each participant receives back a $10.00 Time Warp gift certificate.


Modified rules for this event:
Any game mechanic causing a 2+ re-roll will instead be a 2+ then a 4+
Strength D will roll at a -1 for wounding/penetrating
15 Warp Charge maximum per turn , we only have so much time per round.....
Summoned units can not summon units
Invisibility will be a -2 to hit in ranged shooting and can be hit by template weapons. They are hit on 5+ in assault.
No free transports from the space marine battle company
A unit targeted can not use a cover save in lieu of an armor save if the armor save is better




Army Composition :

Army list must be from a Single source. Either a Combined Arms Detachment or Detachment or Formation. (ONE source only, no allies, data slates) . NOTE: Formations are allowed as your single source but you DO NOT get the benefits from using them.
Stronghold Assault and non-character Lords of War are not permitted.
Gargantuan creatures of any type are not allowed.
Forge World models and lists are allowed.
No Fortifications of any kind
All models must be as close to WYSIWYG as possible (no ridiculous proxies please)
Warhammer 30K unit/lists not allowed

Missions:
Round 1 - Modified Eternal War (3 Objectives outside of deployment zones) & Cleanse and Control
Round 2 - Emperor's Will & Cloak and Shadows
Round 3 - The Relic & Deadlock (max 3 pts turn 1)


Scoring:

Primary Mission 8 pts - Eternal War

Secondary Mission 7 pts - Maelstrom

Tertiary 6 objectives each worth 1 pt

First Blood
Last Laugh (last player to kill a unit/model)
Slay the Warlord
Line Breaker
Break your enemy (Kill all opponents troop units)
Having a fully painted army (3 color minimum)

Gentlemen , this format has been designed to limit the abuse that is so prevalent in the game in its current state. It is overtly convoluted and broken in soo many ways. Again this format is designed for EVERYONE who attends to have a chance , compete and score points. In lieu of just broken game mechanics and mid maxed cheese.... Let`s be honest GW doesn't even really play test the individual units , never mind they work in concert with each other in a formation. We have run this type of format for 4 events now and all have been very well received with almost no complaints. Hope to see everyone there!
I just reviewed the ITC rules , soo much information and soo many rules. Not a knock just saying that that is a lot to digest and remember for a 5-7 turn skirmish game.

Question: Can Buzzgob take his custom Stompa, He is a character and may take a Stompa as a Dedicated transport.
As per your rules, he may as he himself becomes the Lord of War and the Stompa is part of him. Thus not violating the no non-character Lords of War. As Mek Boss Buzzgob becomes a LOW when he selects a Stompa as dedicated Transport.

I too have a stomps and that sounds like a cool idea I'll have to try myself. However if we allow the stompa it would still function as a LOW , which could put the other players at a disadvantage. The intent of the non character LOW was if you wanted to run someone like Ghazgull Thraka or Draigo. We're really trying to keep the tourney quasi vanilla to give everyone a chance. Hope this helps and thanks for asking , this might clear it up for the other players.
Also what are you running for Orks? I really want to run them but it's a lot of models to move. Obj. Secured trucks are great for Maelstrom.

What army do you have? If I have extras of it I could loan you enough to get to 1850. Tournaments are a great way to meet new players and see how other people play.

I'd have no problem letting him use my models if he needs anything as well. No promises on it being fully painted but I have a ton of Nids, Space Marines, Daemons/CSM - heck I may even have an Eldar army by the time this rolls around. Depends on how USPS is feeling

Thinking I'm going to go with Crons so I wouldn't have enough to fill the gaps leftover

Ah don't worry I hate those little space elves. I won a wraithknight a while back and figured I should be able to field it in a bound list haha. Not going to be 1850 anytime soon, but it'll fill some gaps/make a small CAD or allied detachment

Not so sure about D weapons wounding Grots on a 3+ -- perhaps just making a 6 on the table the same as 2-5?

Hey. Lou will be good to have some of the "old guard" playing 40K at TW again. For this event we won't be using any fortifications ,Maslow for formations you can use them. However you don't get any of the bonuses or special rules from them. Any questions shoot me a PM looking to forward to seeing you there !

We had 10 after a few last minute cancellations. The games were all pretty competitive and close , with a good mix of armies. We will be reviewing the format for the next one. I'll update soon.

Sounds good Lou! We have a really good mix of guys coming to play. The games for the most part were all pretty tight and close. Which is always a good thing.
