This came up in a conversation with my brother when I was explaining to him how Eldar craftworlds draft from civilian populations because enough aspect warriors don't exist to defend against concerted warfare. As a result of the Eldar Aspects and their ridiculously slow birth rates, "non- combatant" really isn't a concept to the Eldar isn't it? Take that into consideration with the fact that they just experience everything so much more intensely, really mundane stuff must be an absolute blast compared to most human passtimes. My brother said something about eldar barfights and now I'm really curious about what eldar do on their days off. Do eldar working populations get days off? Is anyone afforded the luxury of a passtime or is that something that is more fearful after what happened with the fall?

I went to Hershey Park in central PA this year, and I have to say I was more than a little disappointed. I fully expected the entire theme park to be make entirely of chocolate, but no. Here in America, we have "building codes," and some other nonsense about chocolate melting if don't store it someplace kept below room temperature.

I'm pretty sure that they have no passtimes, doing things off the Path and for "fun" is how we lose all the Eldar to she who thirsts and deny the birth of the of the god of death.

What's left of Cadia

They have pastimes I'm sure. They're just probably not like our pastimes.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."
Space Marine flyers are shaped for the greatest possible air resistance so that the air may never defeat the SPACE MARINES!
Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

I just think their "past times" are really their jobs, which is there Path. I'm an Artisan? Okay, I spend my free time practicing my sculpting, I'm a Farmer? Okay, I'll maintain my tools in my free time. Warrior? Train. Etc, etc, etc.

The 'Path of the...' series of novels goes into Eldar life in some detail. The main character in Path of the Warrior is a sculptor who does a public showing of his work in the book's opening scene. Eldar have art shows, concerts, restaurants and the like. They have arboretums, zoos and museums. Any Eldar of any path is welcome as long as they behave themselves socially.

At one point an a Eldar Aspect Warrior attending a social event realizes that he no longer fits in with Eldar society. He can no longer remove his war mask, and has become an Exarch.

Of course, being a sculptor is a path of it's own. Eldar can switch paths when the spirit moves them.

My two cents.

Those eldar bar fights are going to be seen most between outcasts, corsairs, and dark eldar. Basically anyone off a craftword path. In the various eldar novels it is pretty evident that when people start getting violent on a craftworld it is not acceptable behavior by any means, the general citizenry treats those people like pariah.
