So I'll probably end up preordering the BaC boxset because the 25% discount at my LGS is pretty tempting...and I was wondering if there are any Space Marines or Red Scorpions players who can help me with how to best outfit the army to a 1000-1500 point list in regards to special weapons and whether to give the Terminators lightning claws or ranged weapons. And looking forward...what to get next (I'm assuming Loth and Centurions should be on the wishlist). I wasn't sure where to post this, so hopefully this is the right place. Thanks in advance!

Sorry bro, Terminators in 7th is not a good idea without the means of reliably getting them mid field before they get peppered to death. You're gak outta luck.

Consider buying extra grav guns off eBay for the tacs, so you'll have that and a shoulder mounted banana clip heavy weapon of your choice.

In HH I'd say give the contemptor 2x TL Kheres AC but to be honest, Dreadnoughts in 40k are not the greatest either. BaC in 40k terms is roughly 900pts, so I'd reccomend Centurions, Loth with a conclave (DISCUSS THIS WITH YOUR OPPONENT) and Pods/Vehicles, then you're good to go for 1500pts.

Terminators in general or Assault Terminators? I was curious about buying more Cataphractii on eBay or from other local wargamers (because they look goddamn awesome) and running a First Company Task Force..even with the bonuses, are deep striking Terminators really that out of fashion?

Only viable terminators is minimum size chaos with combi metlas or flamers, or assault terminators with storm shields.(not sure about lightning claws) everything else just dies before they can do anything.(or in the case of the chaos ones they are meant to die after taking something with them.)

But if you like the models just use them and have fun. Thats what I'm planing on doing.

Go to a bitz website and buy a bunch of nartheciums. You'll need 'em.

Damn good point about the Nartheciums...I was planning on just painting the sergeants heads white but you never know when you stumble upon a truly WYSIWYG gamer...

A friend gave me a Forgeworld pack of 5 MK2 marines a few months back and I might just try running them as Sternguard.
