I think the title is pretty self explanatory. Skeleton archers who are plastic! Does anyone know what some good places to find them are?

Pretty sure GW do skeleton archers in the Tomb Kings range, although the aesthetic is quite Tomb King specific.

For something a little more adventurous, how about mixing, say, Perry Hundred Years War archers with Mantic Skeletons? The heads and a few skeletal limbs poking out from under the clothes could do a decent job, I think.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the tomb king look.

I like the perry idea, though. I've got some mantic skeletons lying around unbuilt, so I'm partway there already.

I was also wondering if there were any cheap, monopose skeletons out there that I could use to fill out some gaps.

The Wargames Factory skeletons have 10 bows.... for 30 skeletons.... (No, I don't understand it, either.)

Wargames Factory has become my go-to place when I want skeletons for terrain - at the price I could afford to get an entire box and dismember them.

They aren't bad skellies - and may become the basis for my Empire of Dust army, saving the heftier GW models for the 'elite' units. (I actually like the WF figures better, but they look a bit wee next to the GW figures.)

I don't think so... GW skeleton archers are just skeletons with bows and quivers. The shields and some of the melee weapons are Egyptian-y but if you painted them white instead of dusty, I wouldn't think of them as Tomb Kings at all.

Reaper Bones. Mind you, they're in the 'Bonesium Plastic', but the price isn't bad.

Have to admit I used Tomb Kings archers. You won't use the unit standard, and the Khopesh carried by the unit champion is also probably a no-no. After that, it's really only the heads with circlet and headcloth that are quite Egyptian-looking

Many of the heads are bare, and the circlets and.armbands look quite different painted up as rusty iron rather than gold and turquoise.

Any thought given to using actual Mantic Skeleton-Archers? I love the Mantic Undead as they have actually been amazing models well before KoW 2nd. Ed. In fact, most WHFB players I know have used Mantic Undead for years.

Its definitely the part of their range which has most often been praised.

Yeah, once that Black Plague stuff gets released that could be a good source for undead armies in general.

I do like the mantic undead in general, especially the skeletons, but I'm trying to avoid mixed plastic and metal stuff. Just a personal preference.

Gotta check out the zombicide figures, thanks.

It's actually 15 bows per 30 skeletons.

I've bulked out my Undead with them, they fit well!

The half plastic/half metal Mantic ones are horrible and barely fit together, despite being awesome sculpts in the photos.

Yes. I picked up two boxes for $60 total, and I'll have 3 archer troops and a spear regiment to join my 60 GW hand weapon / shield skellies, plus 10 extra skeletons to use as terrain and bits.

I wouldn't go as far as horrible, but they take a bit of work to get together. Personally I wanted my archers to visually match the rest of my skeletons so I persevered and made a Troop. Haven't yet gotten round to the second Troop, 2 years later (and plans for a third were shelved).

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

THe plastic skeletons in the new Dungeon Saga game are quite nice. I hope that they release them separately

(This is true of a lot of new sculpts in the game)

There is this set, but that's really inefficient if you don't want the other figures:

It looks like the sprue has been changed since I purchased my terrain skellies.

They did remake the skeletons. I believe they did it because the old ones were quite fragile (correct me if I'm wrong my memory is kinda hazy).

Is it possible to get the Wargames Factory skeletons right now? Their store says it's closed and merging with Warlord games.

Well, poo.

I hope they become available again, soon.

The companies haven't merged, but Warlord is taking over all of the sales and distribution for Wargames Factory.

Someone asked a similar question about a different unit on Warlord's facebook, and the Warlord rep said probably January 2016
