title says it all. My first and favorite army is space marines (Inquisition is a close second).

For me it's scouts, idk what about them but to me they just rock, and 7th edition made them very good.

But performance aside, whats your favorite unit from your main army look wise even if you don't use them often.

My Imperial Guard Wyvern.

For CSM, Chosen. Chosen were the first units I put the hydra shoulder plates on.

For Eldar, Warp spiders. Even in 3rd, they were basically nightcrawler with guns.

Tankbustas.

Chapter Master... Or vindicators. I never play a game without either

Dreadnoughts, hands down the coolest unit in the game. Wether it be contemptor, leviathan, venerable or the humble normal type, the lore is awesome and they pack a punch for only 100 pnts

Leviathan is a whopping 300 points. Still beats up regular dread mooks

Also forgot the Ironclad. Good ole reliable

I occasionally enjoy playing a mixed Inquisitorial retinue. Stuff like daemonhosts, hieorphants, mystics, and warrior acolytes all mashed together into a large unit. It's completely useless and a bit of a point sink. I call mine the Freak Show!

Fire Warriors. Strike Teams, specifically. I really like infantry, they just have so much personality.

Mechanically, I really like all the things you can do with a Commander.

5th edition Mephiston.

I mostly play a modified version of 4th edition rules, allowing any and all codexs released during 5th edition or less.

Orks - Trukk boys (Kult of Speed, Codex Armeggeddon)
Space Wolves - Terminator Wolf Guard squadron (5th ed book)
Tau - Hammerhead Gunship (4th edition)
Chaos - Daemon Prince (3.5 codex)
Dark Eldar - Reaver Jetbikes (5th edition)

Big fan of Termis love the fluff, think they are cool, just a shame I never use them anymore, if it isn't them then its hands down Sternguard, now there is a cool unit!

Warpsmith in visually and fluff. Thousand sons in fluff.

I love the look of terminators for my Dark angels bone coloured deathbringers

Space Marine Honour Guard and Command Squad with SS/special weapon. Expensive but they are so fun!

Death Company are my personal favorite. Love their look, and they're a helluva lot of fun to play. They're not the be-all-end-all close combat unit, but man they hit hard for their points.

Eldar Storm Guardians!

First I did neat converstions on them. And second, since everyone says they suck I tend to use them all the time!

(So far they have been doing pretty good as tankbusters.)

I play Salamanders now as my main force and I love their fluff and stories from the 40k universe. That being said, Vulkan He'stan looks awesome as a mini and his ability to make all your melta weapons in your army basically twin-linked is pretty damn awesome in my book.

Also, I think Land Speeders are an awesome unit for any Marine chapter. Super fast and highly versatile with their weapons.

Marauder Destroyer for my IG. Vulture gunship takes a close second, and is actually small enough to use in normal games.

Gal Vorbak. Solid, well-rounded, cost-effective elite brawler infantry. Can reliably take on most other infantry units in melee and come out on top. The squad leader can even give most HQs a run for their money.

Soul Grinders

Kastellan Robots. So much fun to march them across the board and tear marines to shreds.

Nothing beats the feeling when a vendetta comes on and saves the day.

My Kroot.

Say what you will, those guys are freaking survivors. I have seen them survive blasts, flamers, and all sorts of guns with one or two casualties at most. Infantry wise, they have higher staying power even when being targeted by nasty stuff.

Renegade Infantry Squad... with Militia Training, Flak Armour (save versus scatbikes), Chaos Sigil and Enforcer with combat drugs for awesome morale and decent close combat punch, three Melta Guns to scare armour and Krak Grenades for all gives some punch against all those nasty monstrous creatures and walkers. Just hope enough of the squad survives before it can get into threat range. Actually it doesn't matter, got four more of these squads runnig at you, and if you're shooting these guys you're not shooting the big guns
