Hello all!

To those who already own and play Betrayal at Calth:
From a pure board game point of view, which is the best way to equip the models?

Possible alternatives are :

for tac squads: one special (flamer, plasmagun or meltagun) one heavy (missile launcher or heavy bolter) and the sgt with/or bolt or plasma pistol, combi-weapon, chainsword or power sword

for cataphractii: one heavy flamer and bolter/power fist or pair of lightning claws.

for contemptor: either asault cannon or muti-melta

Which do you believe is the best loadout?

When I opened the box, I had the same thought. How would I build things to best play the game? But the rules actually seem pretty balanced. Everything is situationally useful, even the basic bolters.

So I stopped worrying about it, and built (well, am building) what I thought looked cool and I could use for 30/40K.

I’m painting everyone blue anyway, but still wanted to be able to field valid board game forces out of it.
