Hey, new to 40k and liked the idea of the Tyranids (and with our next Codex out soonish, hopefully they will be better, just leave the FHT alone) and wanting to build at least two workable armies at some point.

Currently our store has the Deathsworm box set, two boxes for Hive Tyrants and one book of Venom's (easy to make both models via e-bay) and at least for now try to form a decent starting army out of those things. I'm willing to buy and have ordered other models in the future.

In truth I'd like to make a 1000 and/or 1500 point Endless Swarm Army and the idea of a mostly Flying Army has its appeal, again in the 1k, 1.5k or 1850 point range that the group typically does (they will do a rare 750 or something like that, or odd numbers like 1200 or 1300 points).

For now any starting army ideas would be good for a new player, or if the two above armies are doable for someone starting out. (been practicing with Chaos Marines)
