Ahoy freaks. Here you go, another Ork army blog. I've done stuff for a couple years now but never managed to get a blog off the ground. Now that I've taken my year off from the hobby, I'm getting back in to finish up all my mostly done models and kitbashing and scratch building some new stuff.

Below are various WIPs, finished products, and maybe a picture or two of my cats.

First up, some of my scratch built and kitbashed buggies. These were my first foray into custom modeling. Forgive me the lack of WIP shots on many of the projects. I didn't realize I'd want WIP shots in the future when I first started.

My very first kitbashed model. Robogear + lots of plasticard = Wartrakk




Second and more "Orky" Wartrakk.




And then I just went nuts. Also, I always run these as Wartrakks even though Ork meta says to ignore Trakk upgrades. I don't care. I love em.

Next up are a few small mods I did on various models.

First is my Badmoon Big Mek Boblag with a custom gob and powerklaw. One of my earliest Orks, and so the skin is still pretty rough. Everything else looks pretty good I think.





Second, some kustom turbine additions to one of my Badmoon Dakkajets.




and lastly, a kustom gob for Boblag's favorite Killa Kan.

I love the weathering you've done on your models, right proppa and orky, specially since they're yellow which isn't the easiest colour to paint.

Next up is my kitbashed biker boss. This is my pride and joy and also the first model I took WIP pics of.

Blocking done! Gatling added and magnetized to be switched out with future made grot side car.





Fully assembled, mostly painted, and glued to base.

Next up, some current WIPs. 10 scratch built Kustom Mega-Kannons. (Who'd wan't to pay $500 just to field these?)

Thanks Brush, that model really was an inspired piece. I play it as often as I can.

Next up! 10 Scratch built Kustom Mega-Kannons. This is currently a WIP. I've decided that there is nothing I could do that would be more fun and cash saving than build my own gunz.
These clock in at about $3-5 a gun.

Here are several shots of the Kannons blocked off with their primary colors of Yellow, Red, and Silver and with the first wash on the yellow. My Badmoon theme is kind of non-traditional and I like to highlight heavily with this red. You see it on all my Badmoons. I also like the checks more than the dags.
Anyway. Blocked Kannons. It's where I am currently on this project.





Not everything is completely blocked yet! Grot for scale.

Here we go with the Tankbustas AoBR Boyz with a bunch of scratch built tank hammers, and rokkit pistols. Something about the Rokkit pistol makes me really happy. I can't imagine how heavy those would be.

Next up is a bunch of Grots. This was a break from finishing up the kannons. Just run of the mill gretchen here, but I did give it my best shot. Oh and man, are those teeth hard to paint!

I always find grots will games when I play against orks as they tend to sit on an objective at the back, ignored due to the massive number if green skins running towards me.

Next up, a bunch of kustom trukks!

looks awesome man! This one in particular looks awesome to me. Makes me want to build a cannon with a big grappling hook or something.



My only critique would be to maybe add some wear & tear to the tires. The actual cannons look like they have been in the thick of it with all the scorch marks and paint chipping, so some mud on the tires could really bring it all together.

Keep it up man, can't wait to see what you come up with for the trucks!

I was playing around with the idea of putting some additional detail in to the tires, but was not sure where to go with it. I suppose mud and dust is the logical step.

I've been meaning to get some weathering powders anyway, so this might be the perfect excuse to pull the trigger!

Decided to polish off my first two Battle Wagons and get them 100% done finally. They had sat at about 80% done for 5 years while I played instead of completing models. So, here they are completely done! Another one is coming after I finish the Trukks which should be showing up here in the blog soon.

I can relate to this, as we made our Biker boss along similar lines and I'm just working on Tankbustas. A Green Tide truly never finishes, but it's always fun.

Thanks Hive. This project has been ongoing for about 6 years. I'm actually starting to feel pretty good about getting the whole army 100% complete this year. Unless GW comes out with another model that I want to put on the table (Which is different from another model I just like the looks of) then I'll be able to meet that goal. All I have left after this is one more BW, a few trukks, a few MANZ, and a crap ton of Boyz to flock.
