So, I decided to make a simple display board for my necrons.

First I cut a necron "ankh" out of foam board and glued it onto a cheap notice board I got from Ikea...

...then I covered the rest with sand (I also covered the ankh with thinned glue to protect it a bit)...

...and painted the sand dark brown...

...which I drybrushed with grey...

...then I proceded to paint the ankh green (took maybe four coats, but I didn't mind, more protection for the foam board)...

...and the frame black (also highlighted the green a bit). Done.

Here's the finished board with my current tournament list.

Thank you for watching.

Looks good. Simple and effective, I like it.

Oh great, another Necron cheesemeister! Lol joking of course! I like the board, simple so as not to distract the eye from the miniatures, but looks good with them on it. The minis themselves look good, too!

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Suits your army nicely, and that's a clever idea using a pinup board. Only thing I might have recommended is giving the ankh a tapered edge, but it's great as is.

I think it might just be the camera angle but does the center icon seem slightly very slightly off angle to anyone else its driving me nuts lol

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage,
and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled. Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Thanks everyone!

I did a little more work on it after taking the pics. The highlights on the ankh don't show much on the pics (or IRL either, really), so I did those again with a slightly brighter green. The frames also got a clear coat varnish. I'll probably hit the whole thing with a spray varnish later to make it more durable.

It is actually, but by less than 1 mm (right side lower than left). I'm usually pretty pedantic, but didn't even notice it until you mentioned.

I just assumed it was an optical illusion created by the vanishing points of the base's sides due to the off-center camera angle.

OP, I love the varying earth tones in the 3rd picture.
