As the title asks, I was curious if the new Citadel trabsport cases (Skirmish, Battle and Crusade) are good for storing and transporting Tau models? I have a bit of everything from Fire Warriors and Kroot, To Stealth, Crisis, Riptide and Stormsurge suits, And a few Devilfish, And i'm looking to expand..

I would say yes, they're good value for the money.
In my Crusade case right now I've got:
Stormsurge
3x Riptide
20x Kroot
2x Kroot Hound
1x Commander
3x Broadsides
18x Drones
1x Inquisitor
3x Servo Skulls
and room to spare.
With this said, 2 of my Riptides, and my Stormsurge, are magnetized for the weapons and waist, which really helps. The Devilfish may be tricky to fit, however, as they'll each likely take up nearly 1/4 of the case.

Sounds awesome, My Stormsurge and Riptides are not magnetised unfortunately.. I might buy a Battle case to test (And then buy more later if I like it)

I have two battlefoam cases. a little more investment, but I prefer the sturdy feel and they have great foam.
I have a few friends that have the new cases and they work for the most part. The web videos have some mad voodoo going on I sware... We have not figured out how they fit so much in these cases...
The issues lie in large odd shaped units. Large vehicles, and stormsurges I would thing would be an issue, if not magnetized. Same with riptides.

A devilfish is 1/4 of the huge crusade case?!
Are you serious?

From what I’ve seen of the GW cases they work very well for infantry and things up to dred/crisis suit sizes. Once you start putting tanks in there, they use a lot of space.
One of their major advantages is their flexibility. I’m a big fan of KR’s system, with custom foam for all types of models. But if I want to bring a dread, I need to use that tray. Same thing with bikes, etc. Custom tray for every unit, or go back to packing things in scraps of foam in unused slots. With GW’s zig-zag system, you can just pack fire warriors, crisis suits, or whatever in the same case. Keep adding guys until the list is packed or you run out of space. Good for if you mix things up a lot. and don’t want to shuffle trays into cases.
They are a little smaller then I expected, but seem a decent value for what you pay. I’m still a KR guy, but can understand the allure of the GW cases.
