can you use jet packs during assault phase to move 2d6 also if heralds have not? and what about try fit a PD or Be'lakor in the list to give access to invisibility and improve match against Tau?
the original list play:

kairos
2 tz herald 3° disc exalted rew
2 N herald 2° greater rew locus of fertility
8+8 scremers
8 plague drones champion with greater rew, venom stings
2x11 horrors

I don't think you can use your jet packs, but I do think the list is almost perfect as is, as close as you can get with the daemon dex.

There's a reason it did well at LVO, and a reason people come and ask about it on dakka once a month. It's an awesome list and can't benefit much from the inclusion of Belakor. You would need to remove too much else to include him. He's 400 pts with the mandatory Cultists unit, unless you're planning on subbing him in for Fateweaver, which I still probably wouldn't do. But some people like apples and others like oranges, so do whatever you think is best.

You do realize that they'll just shoot belakor to get rid of invisibility right?

but at least that give me at least 1 turn, if they dont shoot at Bel they shoot at drones and wreck havocs on them so it s not fair anyway.

As mentioned, belakor is going to get wrecked because everything tau own can ignore cover and 4 wounds at T5 with only a 4++ to save you doesn't cut it. A single unit of broadsides with just 2 markerlights to ignore cover deal 3.75 wounds with HYMP alone. Add the SMS and thats 6 wounds though the invulnerable save. Hell, even without any markerlights, just twin linked BS3, they'll pack 3.5 wounds onto Belakor, killing him almost 50% of the time with no outside assistance despite his 2+ cover when jinking or in ruins.

No, Belakor is going to get splatted. You could use him to soak fire for a turn and get invis off once if you go 1st and try to remain out of LOS and out of range of the broadsides, but I think with that amount of fast assault, you're going to give tau a hard'ish time as long as it's not hammer and anvil on planet bowling ball.

drones aren't so fast when they have heralds attached only screamers are in that list this is why i was thinking about a DP but of course almost not any list like that play it .

Again daemons are really fun and still really good.
They are a huge learning curve.. drones are the best choice they don't need to be fast because they take so much damage and are really used for instance kill and also glancing vehicles to death. Its all about unit coherence. And remember that the main thing about the list is summoning. . To overwhelme your opponents

i can agree, remain the fact a tau atomize plague drones regardless how you move and where, no cover, lot of high str hits often at ab5,also with a 4+FNP there is no history....

Yes. You can Assault move models with Jetpacks in a unit. Same as Bikes can turbo boost while the ICs on foot can run to catch up and stay in coherency.

Or you could you know... use terrain, he's a pretty small model after all... even fly him off the board.

He's not the most durable MC around but if you're clever about it you can keep him alive a good long time, even against Hunter Cadres.

So, silly question, but what makes Drones so good? Not as in I don't think they're good, just I don't know anything about them compared to Gore Packs and Pink Horror summoning. I read a Vague over view on them but it wasn't very concrete and it was from like 2013 so I doubt it's relevant.

You take two heralds of Nurgle in a squad of 8x Drones.
They are shrouded with Daemon invulnerable save.
You take the grim with one of the nurgels and also the feel no pain buff. The Nurgle Heralds pump a ton of biomancy into them.
You get them into close combate there glancing anything to death plus you can give them instant death with Venom sting.
If they get cursed earth on them with the grim you got a squad with crazy amounts of wounds with a 2+ Invulnerable Save and a 5 up Feel no pain.

So do yoo shoot at the two squads of 8x screams with disk heralds of the Fateweaver just summoning more pink horrors or god forbid they explode into a bloodthirster or great unclean or loc.

In the hands of a skilled player the list still is very nasty.
You just got to be smart about it.

I myself have played people who do very well with them.

8 drones with endurance and grimorie on them are probably durable as much as 2+ rerollable screamers but deal more damage, with cursed heart they are def durable as much as screamers, but 28 wounds at T5 quite tough to kill.

Demons of Tzeentch automatically rerolled failed saves of 1. Couple of ways to get the 2++. You can go Grimoire + Forewarning or Grimoire + Cursed Earth. Also good for 2+ cover with jink + physic shrouding.

Never used gorepack, so not sure on that one, but I can weigh in on pinky summons vs drones.

First, with pinkie summons, you may end up with just more troops, and eventually you will fail some casts. Then oh boy, you have a bundle more pink horrors. A lot of armies these days will just eat straight through whatever is summoned, or just ignore it. Its going to be slow, fragile, and probably wont be able to hurt much.

Drones are very quick, very durable, and pack a big whollop of a punch. People really underestimate them. However consider that your plagueridden can be ap2 poison 3, that will take a bite out of just about anything with ease. Then you have the +6 other drones with tons of attacks. You toss in the herald or two for biomancy, your unit might end up with FnP+4, for some very insane durability, generally a +3 cover and FnP is nice. Then you have the heralds attacking with greater eatherblades, so that is more AP2 attacks, possibly with iron arm or warp speed. The chance for enfeeble or life leech is pretty nice as well.

The nice thing about the drones is they can cover every single base. They can kill vehicles, they can kill high toughness, and they can kill ap2. They are also exceptionally fast and durable.
