I've been trying to go through the rules before gluing any plastic together. Mainly because I'm the sort of person that glues the figures all together and then realises I chose the most useless combo of weapons possible.

The Epirian Warmech though has me startled at the options.
From what i can gather from the card, there's;

1) Hydraulic Fist with Maglock Chaingun - No Missiles
2) Hydraulic Fist with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod & Strike Missile Pod
3) Hydraulic Fist with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod (x2)
4) Hydraulic Fist with Maglock Chaingun - Strike Missile Pod (x2)
5) Hydraulic Fist with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod (1 only)
6) Hydraulic Fist with Maglock Chaingun - Strike Missile Pod (1 only)
7) Suppressor Dual Machine Gun with Maglock Chaingun - No Missiles
8) Suppressor Dual Machine Gun with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod & Strike Missile Pod
9) Suppressor Dual Machine Gun with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod (x2)
10) Suppressor Dual Machine Gun with Maglock Chaingun - Strike Missile Pod (x2)
11) Suppressor Dual Machine Gun with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod (1 only)
12) Suppressor Dual Machine Gun with Maglock Chaingun - Strike Missile Pod (1 only)
13) Flakk Cannon with Maglock Chaingun - No Missiles
14) Flakk Cannon with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod & Strike Missile Pod
15) Flakk Cannon with Maglock Chaingun - Cluster Missile Pod (x2)
16) Flakk Cannon with Maglock Chaingun - Strike Missile Pod (x2)

19) Hydraulic Fist with Suppressor Dual Machine Gun - No Missiles
20) Hydraulic Fist with Suppressor Dual Machine Gun - Cluster Missile Pod & Strike Missile Pod

27) Hydraulic Fist with Flakk Cannon - Cluster Missile Pod (x2)

29) Hydraulic Fist with Flakk Cannon - Cluster Missile Pod (1 only)
30) Hydraulic Fist with Flakk Cannon - Strike Missile Pod (1 only)

I bought 2 box sets, which will give me 4 Warmechs, but blimey at the options.
Now as M.Edge is really into modelling the WYSIWYG on models, I've not a clue what to go for. I don't want to burn out trying to play games with proxies before I finalise what to build, nor can I afford (cash or storage space) one of every combo.

Any thoughts?
I notice that the construction notes say that the Maglock Chaingun can only be on the Hunter's right arm which would seem to cut the list of combos above down.

Has anyone magnetised parts, or gone with a certain obvious combo for their 2 models (if they got 1 box set).

Thanks.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Xenos Rampant, Mars Code Aurora and Battletech.
I tried dabbling with 40k9/10 again and tried AoS3 - Nice models, naff games, but I'm enjoying HH2 and loving Battletech Classic and Alpha Strike.

You missed the dual suppressor and dual flakk cannon options...

I just built what looks good, so far, but magnetising aspect be to tricky if you want to keep your options open. So much of it is going to depend on what else you put in your force and what sort of opponents you wind up facing.

Magnetising the main guns and the gun arms is dead simple; the way I've done mine is one with the right arm magnetised and a fist in the left, and the other has two gun arms with magnets in. So I can basically pick any combo of the main weapons between the two Hunters I have.

I couldn't figure out a way of magnetising the fist arm, unfortunately, so one has to commit to that, unless someone is more practised with magnets than I am. As to cluster/strike missiles I've just glued them, but they could probably be magnetised with a bit of work and some thinking.

I would imagine my only opponent ever will be my wife with whatever Karist force I build and paint from the 2 boxes. I suppose I just need to make sure I build the forces fairly balanced.

You need something loaded up to take out Angels. There's a thread on taking out the Angel elsewhere on the forum, so that should simplify your options somewhat.

I've got three, so I'm loading one for long-range shooting, one stripped down for closer range stuff, and one medium all-rounder. I forget which weapons I've chosen though.

I couldn't resist having a quad suppressor w/ cluster missiles loadout. Still not enough dakka, but it'll have to do.

I built the other one as the basic version, chaingun and power fist with the strike missiles. Seems like this is a good all-around loadout.

If I was to get another one, it'd probably be a close-combat version with the overdrive protocol and a powerfist + flakk cannon combo.
