So I want to ally my BAngels to my DKoK (I know, Allies of Convenience) and was wandering what sort of units are best to chuck in. DK are quite static, so I was considering chucking in a couple of Tac squads of flamers in drop pods and maybe a fragioso in a drop pod. But then, what would I use as the BAngel HQ? I'm more interested in having more DK over BAngels, as I'm a Guard player at heart. Just love the idea of a few marines helping them out like in da stories :3

Drop pods.

Just drop pods, take them and fill them witl melta vets or something equivalent

Well, besides using our faction as a taxi service I'd suggest trying to find the weaknesses of your army.

No experience with DKoK but I'm guessing like all guard they're squishy.

If you're going to put BA's in drop pods, there's 2x melta assault marines w/out jump packs for CC or there's the furioso/DC dread in a pod to unleash some "GET OFF MY LAWN!" or brutal murderizing of enemies. Tac marines toting a multimelta and a plasma gun could work for range synergy. Just tossing out ideas, unsure of competitiveness but ultimately it's up to you what you want to do

Drop pods and anything that fills a close combat nitch. Dreadnoughts are pretty terrible for marines because marines have to advnace and have low numbers already but for guard they are a cheap source of lock down power CC.

Put command squads/ vet squads in drop pods and you can cast ignore cover orders with melta guns or plasma guns...pretty hard not to get your points back. Consider a single or pair of bare bones assault cannon dreads to cover your front lines with str 10 powerfist with 4 attacks.

I've seen a friend of mine utilize a land raider to push an ograns deathstar around - it was pretty brutal.

I think all "Imperial" allies are now Battle Bros, might be a special rule for DKoK though?

I took pods for Vets, and then some Dreads in Pods, at 1850. I used some Camo Scouts as Objective campers. Go to ground and stay alive! I used a Techmarine as the mandatory HQ, and boosted the cover save of some cover in my DZ.

Worked pretty well. I imagine it would work for DKoK, as I used the IG's Artillery formation for my "home base."

So, I'd say Pods and Dreads, which fix mobility and CC potential while still bringing a big gun to party with the Guardsmen.

A more in depth approach.
DKoK do one thing and they do it good. Hide behind a wall and spam pie plates. This is good vs infantry blobz.
So your allies should be build to counter anything that isn't a infantry blob. So focus on killing big toys that only get hit one for each blast.

In the DKoK codex, it states that Blood Angels, along with Grey Knights, are Allies of Convenience unfortunately.

This also means I can't shove vets squads into drop pods, but that doesn't matter anyway as DKoK don't get Vet squads so I won't be able to do that haha.

The other suggestions are good though. I'm definitely interested in taking something like a fragioso in a pod

I would say that bikers are always worth a go for allies. They would provide some much added mobility to your Guard, very useful for maelstrom missions.

I hadn't thought of bikes, but that's a great idea. I already have some Death Riders in my DKoK but the bikes would be an excellent accompaniment to them, as they could give covering fire to the riders, while keeping pace.

I once filled the board with 3 vendettas and finished off with a storm raven. Worked pretty well!

Just use any other red marine if you like pods. Blood angels are no longer the only cab drivers in the imperium.
