Hello all!
So my friend and I are building team tournament army list to take to Adepticon next year. I know it's very possible that we don't have an event to play these armies with (since the events can change from year to year). This year the is a 'Long War Doubles' tournament that awards points based on you result, painting and army composition. These kind of events are right up our ally since the crazy 'drive all before you' attitude that a lot of the hardcore events have (Like the Adepticon GT) really doesn't do it for us.
He will be running Crimson Fists and I will be running Black Templars for a 'Sons of Dorn' theme.
I figure that building a semi-decent 1850 fluffy Templars list is very doable, basically EC, Grimaldus, 3x Crusader Squads, Land Raider Spearhead. Certainly not over the top broken, but strong enough to give everyone a good game.
What I'm having problems with is the 1000 point list. It seems like the 'typical' BT type army just doesn't work at this level and I'm not sure how to make it work. I had thought about bringing a Skyhammer, but I don't seem to really have enough points left over for a basic CAD including the EC.
I want to avoid regular tactical squads and run Crusader Squads instead. I want to include an EC and I want to keep the BT's unique feel, so definitely assault oriented. Any thoughts?
My friend is doing mechanized Crimson Fists with an artillery theme, so Razorbacks and Thunderfires.

It seems like a LRC full of troops is going to run you around 450-500 points depending on upgrades. So fitting two in for you CAD troop tax is going to be rough. If you don’t want tacticals, how about a unit of CC scouts in a LSS? It’s not quite fluffy for a unit of BT neophites to be off on their own, but they are stabby.

I've been running lists all morning, and I thought of:
CAD:
HQ:
Emperor's Champion
Troops:
Crusader Squad 1
-10x Initiates (power fist, Flamer)
-5x Neophytes
-Sword Brother w/ power fist
-Land Raider Crusader
Crusader Squad 2
-5x Initiates
-Razorback w/ Lascannon, TL plasma gun
Heavy Support:
Predator w/ TL Lascannon, Lascannon Sponsons
Hunter
1000 points even
Thoughts?

I might swap the pred for a vindi. Leave the sit back and shoot for your partner. Drive forward, and crush all in your path!
I think the stalker is mechanically the better AA tank, but the hunter looks better.
What you have looks pretty good though. Might want to scrape up points for a MM on the LRC. Not sure from where though.
