So it has come to the end of the campaign that I have run, all that is left is the final 12,000pt battle. We have are own custom campaign assets, one of which we spent 20 victory points on.
The asset goes like this:
-d3 superheavies/gargantuants (per person) can deep strike on turn one.
-place the model down and scatter it 2d6".
-if the model lands on an enemy model or fortification roll on this table:
1. The model fails it's deep strike and goes into on going reserve.
2. The model is moved to the nearest available space.
3. Both the model and target unit take d6 Str(user, if no strength front armour divided by 2) ap2 hits.
4. They count as being in cc and the deep striking unit may carry out one round of combat with the target unit at I0.
5. The target unit takes d6 Str 10 ap1 hits.
6. Place a large blast down at the point of impact, anything under this plate is removed (if super/gargant lose d6 hp/wounds).
Now the problem is which units to deep strike? They cannot charge after deep striking so it would only be shooting attacks (unless in cc). So either I take my gargant and leave him sat useless for a turn being eaten by enemy fire or i take my super and risk being in melta range.
The units I have to deep strike are: a lord of skulls, an imperial knight and An'ggrath.
The people I am allied with are taking a couple of stompas each and plan to deep strike. My opponents have several imperial knights and a MASSIVE amount of destroyer tank hunters and leman russ vanquishers.
