So it has been almost a year since the Kickstarter launched. A lot has happened since then. KS was funded, the game has been shipped to backers and it is now hitting retail. So to look ahead, what is the plan for year 2? Will as new KS be coming (maybe November) will you release models for 2 new factions online etc. Can you all disclose anything about what the future plans are? I just want something new to get excited about. Reading the books, short stories, and listening to the audio books, I really want to see The Broken. I Especially want a model for that giant alien that no-one would take aboard due to its mass!

Thanks for the kind message! The team is already working on the next steps in the project and lots of exciting new content but we aren't quite ready to reveal it all yet. Salute next weekend is an important time for us to get the whole team together and plan for the coming year. We certainly will be bringing out more models, factions and fiction from the world of Maelstrom's Edge, watch this space!

Read the first two novels in the Maelstrom's Edge Universe now:

Maelstrom's Edge: Faith - read a sample here!

and

Maelstrom's Edge: Sacrifice

To echo the above, there will be a detailed outline of vague plans coming in the near future. We have so much stuff going on now that there is a lot to look forward to, with the caveat that things are done when they are done. We are somewhat getting around hard-to-pin timing by having three distinct production channels at the same time so that delays on one range dont knock on other ranges though

Check out our new, fully plastic tabletop wargame - Maelstrom's Edge, made by Dakka!

Has it really almost been a year? I haven't even started my karist plog yet. D:

I have a stupid question, will there be any vehicles slated for release?

I hope you are focusing on aliens and/or robots a lot this year. Those are the strengths of your range so far, although the fancy characters also came out well.

If you are planning to make more humans, please settle on a scale and stick to it. The Karists and Tempests are not to scale with each other, and the Epirians are disproportionate to either, although funnily enough closer to the Tempests than the Karists are.

They're not meant to be. Tempests are bigger than regular humans due to the effects of long term exposure to Cybel energy. The Kaddar Nova is bigger again... he's huge.

No idea what you're seeing here. The Karist Trooper and Epirian Contractor are almost identical, scale-wise. The trooper has a slightly shorter torso, and skinnier arms, but otherwise they're not that dissimilar.

The torse is what I am talking about. Turn the models around, and they all have waists about the same height, but the Epirian and Karist shoulders are half a head higher than on the karists. The torso to leg ratio is inconsistent, so it is not just a case of tempests being bigger.

The kaddar nova is a great model, but an awesome helmet head would make him even better.

Can't wait to hear more about the vague plans After more angel types were hinted at in another thread I've been eager to hear more!

Greetings everyone. My name is Tim, I live in Connecticut (USA) and I am just getting in Maelstrom's Edge after seeing Ash Barker's YouTube game play video.

Bought the game online right before Salute so it should be getting shipped out tomorrow (Wednesday).

I got the PDF rules and am going through it now.

As far as what's coming next - "The Broken" should probably near the end of the release schedule, at least the miniatures. There are enough post-apoc miniatures out there that can be used as proxies. Spiral Arms should be concentrating on figures that can't be proxied. They just need to release some generic stats for the Broken.

At least that's my two-cents worth.

Really, I'd argue the opposite. While there are lots of metal post-apoc survivors out there there are not any plastics I am aware of.

I think Broken would have a lot of crossover potential, an infantry kit and a Mad Max style war car would have a lot of uses .

I can see the MEdge creators not wanting to just make proxy figures but money is money and a kit that gets into stores and into people's hands will only help promote the game.

I know I'd buy it.

I've also been reading your back-and-forth with Sgt. Oddball in the "Watch people play Maelstrom's Edge - a let's play video from Guerilla Miniature Games" thread.

Very helpful.
