I took a hiatus from a lot of things in order to complete this piece. I took a break from lifting, ate nothing but maggoty bread for three stinking days, and smelled man flesh as I tracked a party of three through the realm of Rohan Here is the final result. I chose models that I liked, and I pieced them together in one of my favorite factions of the Adeptus Astartes, the Blood Angels. I like to think of this as an elite strike force in a wasteland, one that could choose any weapon or equipment from the armories of the Imperium in order to combat the enemies of man. Pic heavy, hope you enjoy!

They're Sanguinary Guard.
They're nicely painted but why do they have a Wyvern?

Looks great, man. Oddly enough the terrain is my favorite part.
As an aside, my wife and I are moving back home to Columbia when I get out of the Navy in October, its been six years so I was wondering how the gaming scene is there, particularly for Warhammer 40k?

Because science and reasons. When you have a Wyvern laying around you don't not paint it in Blood Angels colors.

It's pretty good honestly. We have a few stores in columbia that play and a good group. If you have Facebook check out the groups "gaming council" and "serpents lodge". I'm not even the original poster lol.
Sad I missed seeing this in person. How'd you make the board?

I constructed the board using a sheet of plywood,20"x20", then used wall filler for the contours. Cork board for the big cracks. After the wall filler dries, sand it so that it is all smooth, otherwise it will look clumpy. The add large rocks (pine bark) medium rocks, aquarium rocks, large grit sand, then small grit sand. Leave some blank areas to add Argellan earth (I know I spelled that wrong). The road is 150 grit sandpaper. Then paint to whatever color you want , I chose dark brown, light brown, cream
White. And add pigments and washes to the crackled areas and vegetation.
