Wanted to get more painting in this weekend, but Saturday was Undoukai at the Japanese school, and that's where I spent most of my weekend, dressing up in stupid costumes for races with my kids and melting in the sun when I wasn't having to run around.

Sunday I experienced the horror of a Tom's Shoes sale and spent the bulk of the day recovering from the spectacle of hundreds of women losing their sanity as they attacked box after box of cheap shoes.

So with horror fresh on my mind, I decided to do some Kingdom Death.

Here's my soon to be finished Detective Twilight Knight. At first I thought of doing her up like a US Marshall to go along with all my Brimstone stuff, but then I thought, nah, go for the trashy looking police officer with her rear end hanging out.

She just needs a bit of detail work here and there and she'll be good to go. Still may use her in Brimstone!

Mr. Graves from Malifaux. He's almost done too. He's a big guy too. Put him on a 40mm base. Not sure if that's the correct size or not, as the previous owner didn't bother including cards with 99% of the figures I got from him. I'll find a use for him in some Western style game if I don't end up picking up an arsenal deck that has his cards included with him.

I've got a bunch of Malifaux and Wild West Exodus stuff coming in this week. My hope is to get things painted up and try out Dracula's America this weekend.

Maybe I can sucker Barzam and Bob the Inquisitor into tagging along...

Detective is finished now and waiting to get her paint sealed!

On to more varied and unique figures...

A more completed version of the Wild West Exodus lady whose name I don't know. I believe she's supposed to be part of the Lawmen/ Marshalls faction. She's got the badges at least.

Savio Montero Acosta, swordsman extraordinaire. Typically Cygnarian Stormblades are one per soldier, but this dude is so awesome he dual wields them. He's got some fun stats but since I never actually play a Privateer game, that point is moot.

A poorly focused beginning to Hutchuck, an Ogrun alchemist from Hordes. I'm noticing his armor is starting to match up to my Death Guard's. Maybe I can use him as a stand in Biologus or whatever the chemical guy is called until I end up acquiring that model too.

Got a bunch of Brimstone figures I'm slowly working my way to being presentable soon as well...

Hutchuck is looking a bit better today...

Still a ways to go on him til I'm satisfied.

Also managed to get nice and sick from my students, which put a serious damper on doing any more painting. Yuck.

I managed to get most of my new Talos from Malifaux nice and scuffy looking though.

Not 100% satisfied with him. Need to do a bit more work on the brass and copper colors on him.

Not sure if I posted him before, but I got that Bones Troll finished.

and his buddy the Hill Giant/ Ogre Boss.

Hopefully I can get over whatever bug is bugging me. I wanted to get Shadespire this weekend, paint it, and learn it so I can whoop on Barzam and Bob the Inquisitor next month!

Are those minis from Warmachine? They look p. awesome.

Yeah, most of the more unique looking sculpts are more than likely Warmachine/ Privateer stuff.

Despite their mucking up of the rules, I still really enjoy the models they make- especially their newer resin figures. Hutchuck and Savio being the most recent examples.

Despite feeling like garbage most of the weekend, and having my free time yanked away by the dastardly Japanese school, I did manage to get some painting in.

Another Wild West Exodus figure. This one was one of the last Outlaw figures, part of their "Ladies of the Old West" sub- line at the tail end of their 2nd kickstarter.
She was a really yucky cast. I tried to clean her, tried smoothing green stuff over the rough patches, but up close you can see it was a baaaaaaad casting. Too bad Outlaw had already washed their hands of the game at the time I got her. In the end she turned out alright. Daughter liked her at least.

A Shadow Effigy from Malifaux's Ten Thunders faction. The ropes holding his drinking gourd look kinda sloppy, but he's tiny and I don't care all that much!

...? And this week's winner of most phallic looking model on the table goes to this guy!

This one is entirely Barzam's fault. He's from Low Life minis. I have no idea where to go with him color scheme- wise. Any suggestions?

Slopped some base colors on a Halloween Twilight Knight to get in the mood for the season. I'm sure she'll be done by the 31st! Heck, her new plastic upgrade friends might be done by then as well!

...and I even managed to figure out how to build a Goryo from Malifaux! was it a pain figuring out how to build it, even with instructions. I should have heeded the internet's warnings.

I actually didn't do it correctly,at least according to Wyrd's official build directions, but it looks alright and I cheated gluing a few spots together to make it a bit more stable. Gotta deal with that mold line running down the middle of him...

I'll slap some paint on it and it's buddy, as well as get started on my Shadespire guys. I've got some gold primer I'll try on my Stormcasts....

Got a whole lotta Malifaux, Brimstone, and Wild West Exodus stuff worked on last night, seeing as how the weather warped my brains and made me incapable of doing anything overtly physical.

Johnny got his gun. I think it came from the Scions originally. It doesn't have much in the way of Imperial regalia on it, so that's perfect.

Started some serious work on my Brimstone Drifter class...

..and some sloppy beginnings for both the Gunslinger and Bandido classes. They'll get better, promise!

While working on them, started up some Malifaux Undead Gunslingers/ Outlaws from the Resurrectionists.

and managed to get those Goryo base coated and based!

Now on to making them all look presentable! Also, Kingdom Death 1.5 upgrade arrives, and you know I gotta start that old man!

And her buddy the Old Survivor...

The Midnight Stalker from Malifaux, who's vest needs some detailing...

He does have a monocle though!

But I spent most of my time working on getting these guys done.

And the individual members-

Now to finish the Chaos guys and play the damn game!

Midnight Stalker looks good. He looks like he'd make a fine Percival Sparkletrout.

Those Stormcast turned out good. You got them painted up fast, too. Are they regular plastic kits, or are they more boardgamey plastic?

I too thought of Percival Sparkletrout as I painted that Midnight Stalker.

Still not sure on those straps across his vest. Dude sure loves his straps...

I did get those Stormcast painted up quick. Started Friday night, finished Saturday afternoon, bases included, plus shopping and errands throughout the middle of the day.

Bloodbound will be done in the next few days too, don't worry.

Of course buying new couches put a damper on any more painting today sadly...

Attempted to paint the pattern's on a Malifaux Oiran's kimono.

And I'm trying to finish up some of my Brimstone figures in order to make room for the never ending Minecart pile.
Here's some Scafford gang members.

Started the Brutes and Scafford himself too, plus these six actually got finished since I took these photos on Friday.

I see you've gotten the (easier) Old Survivor built - have you tackled the Young Survivor? Or the GSK?

People said YS was a difficult build, but she came together really well for me.

OTOH, I saw hardly a peep on the GSK, but he was a royal PITA to build. It's going to need a lot of gap filling to make him look good, unlike the others.

Yeah, Golden Smokey got together pretty easily. I was surprised I didn't have to resort to the internet on him.

Gaps on mine weren't too bad, but I smushed the crap out of him when gluing him together.

Now to play the waiting game on my Ironjawz and Company of Iron rules...

Once my GSK looks less sloppy, I'll show him off. Really unsure how to do his base though.

Here's my Ho-hum version of the Watcher.

I know I probably should paint in some lights on those lanterns that match the weird energy tendrils floating off it, but I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to mess with a super tiny detail brush to hit those intricate lantern lines.

Finished up the Scafford boys too. Time to do their heavy support and boss man.

I even managed to paint in all their eyes and handlebar mustaches but it all got washed out in the photos. *Sigh*

Anna Lovelace from Malifaux is ready with her gravity well dress.

Usually I'm not too fond of undead factions but her rules are pretty cool, and I'm slowly acquiring the mass of appropriate zombies necessary to run most Rezzers.

Been working on the Legendary version of Walks Looking from Wild West Exodus too.

She's not done, but she's getting presentable at least. She's in a crazy dynamic pose that's hard to photograph though.
Not sure how to highlight all the energy explosions around her. Probably an off- white?

A random heavy support Outlaw from Wild West Exodus. Nice thing is he's a plastic figure rather than resin. He'll be finished soon enough.

Finishing up a Bones Paladin.

His sword has absolutely refused to straighten out despite multiple attempts to fix it.

Some more random Bones guys I'm trying to finish.

Continuing to work on some of the resin Brimstone figures I've got primed and in the way,

Not the greatest paint jobs, but not the greatest resin figures either.

Alternate Saloon Girl sculpt, I think...

The male wandering samurai

Who'll probably get replaced with a Malifaux Lone Samurai once that figure's finished.

and Colonel Scafford is getting started to command his troops.

A random Infinity figure I started. Maybe Tohaa or Combined? Not sure.

Wild West Exodus' Carl Fredriksen, who I got without the dimensional portals he can open up in game.

The beginnings of a Trencher Warcaster Lieutenant and the last of my Oiran.

So I had a weird moment this weekend- I saw some of my old painted minis getting resold on eBay. It was a bit humbling as well as irritating that the seller was passing them off as their own, but it was also kind of cool seeing multiple bids being made on them.

Not going to call out the seller or what the figures were, but it was neat to see them actually going for more than retail rather than less for once.

I didn't get much painting done as I'm in the process of deep cleaning my house before the end of the year for once. We got new furniture recently and who wants a messy house with new stuff in it? Not I!

I managed to wrap up that Trencher Warcaster Lieutenant.

and I started in on another Raging Heroes girl, and have continued trying to work on Colonel Scafford for his Brimstone gang.

Scafford's tentacles and face got more detailing, and I'm just getting started on the barefoot paladin lady. Hopefully I can wrap them up soon!

Finished up another Wild West Exodus figure.

This is the "Legendary" Wyatt Earp kit. He's a lot scruffier, armored up, and more badass than he usually looks. He's also on a custom 40mm base rather than the usual one.

He usually is accompanied by robotic hounds, but at the time I got him was when Warcradle switched from resin version to plastic hounds, so I'll pick those up instead.

Also got out my SciFi Twilight Knight and got her started.

Not liking how her armor, cloak, and hair are all pretty similar in color. Was tempted to just go full on anime hair with her though.... we'll see.
She's early enough along that there's still time to mess with it.

An early shot of the difficult to photograph Hellslinger Phantom from Warmachine. Happy with his cloak, but need to lighten up his armored bits. Also finish his face and better highlight the chest area of the jacket.

Nino from the Malifaux Latigo Posse. He's needs a lot more work, but his base colors are at least decided on.

Hopefully this weekend I can start on the next two Shadespire teams!
