Mostly, on my phone.

Lovely the eyeball on the back. One thing, they're poxwalkers, not cultists but hugely inspiring, nonetheless. You've actually motivated me to get my Mortarion built, finally, and now I need to get my cultists started properly

I feel like you get the best result with poxwalkers when you really work the tone of the whole mob, instead of laboring over what are IMO sorta of unsatisfying individual sculpts (over and over again). Which you've totally done, grim is right

Nice work on the skin tones, very unhealthy looking.

Ha, yeah I considered turning some of the boils into eyeballs, but resisted when I did these models.

Plague Zombies if you want to get technical!

Morty is interesting looking. The unusually clean armour and grubby (yet not putrid) cloth is a stark contrast to the utterly disgusting base and wings. It's almost a role reversal of the norm for that sort of character. Where the armour and cloth would be the grimey worn parts, the base would be comparatively clean and the wings bland almost to the point of being ignored.
Whether that was your intention, I don't know, but the end result paid off quite nicely.

Thanks so much guys! and Happy Halloween to those American among you I did think the Nurgle Pox walking cultists? (will that suffice?) were a timely addition for this time of year. So now i'm moving on to the marines again for the army and should have a little progress next week, i've been busy at work after a bit of upheaval and soul searching but I'm back in an area I excel at and slowly getting my head clearer and more positive which means I'm more inclined to get brushing

Snrub, I'm glad you like Morty dude! I think (and I hope i'm not being arrogant) that I look at models and try and find a way to paint or subtly convert them to change them in a way to make them appealing to a wide audience of hobbyists, doing something different whether it be the colour choice with Morty having a cleaner armour, my goal was a white ceramic look that had grime and algae like an old toilet left to the elements? the robes I wanted to help pull focus to the body still looking heavy and kinda canvas or death shroud-ish

So I've got more Nurgle to paint, and some more GSC stuff on the way from Queensland to do.

But before I start the other stuff when it arrives, I was excited about a bit of work even before it landed my mate in Queensland who's sending the other models for me to paint is also wanting me to paint up Sly Marbo just for a display for himself and I got a bit excited and started the base for him today keep in mind so far I've just built, primed and laid on the main colours before a wash over it and I had a little more time to do the beginning of the trees and plants. Marbo will eventually be standing with his boot on the nids head and hopefully be framed well enough.

And now for something completely different! I have a good mate who works for the local council and somehow got a 3d printed model of the landmark in our town called the cataract gorge first basin, which is a naturally formed valley and basin area that is beautiful and pretty much in the city itself

He asked if I could paint it to look more like it does and I responded with "Hell no, I can't 'paint it' to look like that!" but I did say "I'll use every trick I can find and learn to do it so it looks realistic" and that's where i'm heading with it

first the model.

and now the area in pictures. I hope it's allowed under gaming terrain inspiration clause 34B section 4A? as you can see the part i'm re creating is the green grassed area which shouldn't be too hard, but I'll have to add textures and stonework and a few trees and make it all look good so there will be a good challenge there.

That's a really neat project, looking forward to seeing what you make of it. Certainly a different kind of challenge than your traditional terrain work!

And we all know Marbo's already in that diorama...

Thanks guys, I do enjoy mucking around with the bases when they're things like this and I think Marbo is in the tree somewhere? still heaps to do on it but in Nerdroom news we're having a whole house full of new carpet (finally no more concrete in half the house!) and that has meant I've had to get everything ready by painting all the walls in each room in the entire house and move all the large stuff out! This means the Nerdroom is moving into a larger room and explains why i've been a little absent. But only another week and then i'll be back into more regularly :-)

Yes that scenic model is going to be so cool i've been researching realistic modelling styles and hopefully can do it justice for my first go at something like this! :-)

Thanks Doc, I've had a look around and got some cool ideas, using real little twigs and other more normal hobby supplies. I haven't started anything yet as i'm in the process of putting everything back into the new Nerd room so hopefully soon I can actually do some work again!

To say sorry for not posting for ages due to a very busy life lately I thought i'd smother you all with pics of my latest commission work!

I have been still painting but not quite as much as i'd like to, i've been working on a nice table top quality bunch of models from shadespire and some primaris models that I had to fix up from the owners dry brushing efforts which weren't bad but didn't match the other stuff i'd done for him and he deserves a sweet looking army! I actually get to meet him in February which will be awesome!

I'll start with the couple of Khornate gangs, really cool imagery in these guys, and the hound is super awesomely cool! so I gave him some bloody flesh in his jaw.

Then a polar opposite being the sigmarites, clean silver and blue and cream make for a nice palette and the models are pretty nice, bigger than i'd thought they'd be!

now somewhere in between is the sorcerous Tzeentch bringing the blue to this years fashion show!

Here's the primaris and reavers, Moods wanted a black reaver look for stealth so I just gave them a few subtle hazed metal wear and tear.

Did somebody say BLACKSTONE FORTRESS!!?

THEY DID!!!

Hope you like so far guys!!

Wonderful work all-round Damo, though the inquisitor and priest are my favorites. The OSL on the inquisitorial eye is pretty amazing. Just right.
