I have emailed Warhammer Digital and posted on their FB-page but neither has replied yet. There are many others who are having the same issue, so hopefully they will fix it come Monday. Why they don't have any staff at work when they are releasing new digital material is another question though...

On another note, I think this is the kind of issue that makes people get their codex and stuff from "other" sources. I don't mind paying for a good product, but I'ld like to get that product once I bought it!

Agree with you 100% on all counts. I feel a little guilty about not buying the book from my FLGS in the first place, and this experience certainly hasn't bolstered my resolve to convert my Warhammer library to digital. Disappointing, indeed.

Hi can we confirm that Deathwing sergeants cannot take a powerfist?

The way I read it they are stuck with a powersword, or 2 lightning claws or a thunder hammer and storm shield.

Do you think that this is this intended or an oversight?

Further, why would anyone take a 22 point chainfist over a 12 point powerfist?

I am going to have to convert my SGT to become a powerfist holding power sword user! hah.

Deathwing Sergeants could never take power fists - same as regular Terminator Sergeants.

Before, Chainfist where 22 with Powerfist being 20. Chanfist need to go down to 14 points.

There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I'm not at all interested in running a Primarch and I think hanging a codex off one superhard auto take character is an incredibly bad direction to go in. If people are just waiting for the Lion to come buff their blah, blah, blah collection of so-so units into a Guilleman greenline, then they have a very different take on the hobby to me. It's not like he'd add new flavour to the army, rule-wise, he'd just be a SuperAzzy.
And a big showy model, I guess.

Ghazghkull has nothing on Guilleman btw. He would need a considerable buff to be considered a Primarch level Ork. He's more on a level with Azrael. Good, verging on must take, but doesn't carry the other 90% of the army around on his back.

I really really don't want games workshop to do the lion, compare 40k guilliman to 30k guilliman, the gw ones look like crap and had a potato head, I'm worried they would make the lion look like crap too

Yeah, I suspect you'd get a very mediocre model...but I'd like to be proven wrong.

I'm sure there will be a Forge World model eventually and you can always choose to use that one.

I dont understand that unless the reality of 40k is discounted. Space marines pay the bills for GW as for every Dark Eldar player I imagine there are at least 50 space marine players. It's just how it is.

I find it very hard to believe that more people play green space marines than tau or necrons. You are missing the point that regular space marines already have a codex. Of course it's a space marine player that defends this garbage. What a shocker.

Anyone who wants to play 40K needs to be aware that SMs sell more than everything else put together. Unsurprisingly, GW prioritise SM books and kits.

You have to either accept this, or do a different game.

No one has to accept anything - this is a long standing self fulfilling prophercy.

If you spend virtually all of your resources on marketing one element of the game then only release new models for various differnt coloured Marines in the last six months - wierdly they sell the most.

I am quite interested in the DA fluff for the new Codex with all th changes in the universe but worry it will continue the trend of the last few.

Completely agree. It's depressing because the other factions have so much potential in the lore and the models but everything always comes back to space marines. Such a waste. It's what makes 40k so boring.

I think you would be surprised at how many DA players there are out there. They were the one of the first non Ultramarine chapter to have it's own codex back in 2nd edition (BA shared the Angels of Death codex with them, and Space Wolves were released just before I believe) so many of us started playing them way back then when they had a lot of uniqueness back then, which attracted a lot of us.

Yes, I'd argue that DA are probably the biggest non-blue boi chapter around.

I don't. I am pretty sure Dark Angels (or Space Wolves or Blood Angels or Grey Knights) have a larger customer base than any given Xenos faction in the game.

Barring the Primaris kits did the DAs get any other new models?
Or was this mainly a codex release ala Admech and GKs?

The Primaris Liutenaunt was the only new model.

Just a codex release. The DA already have a silly number of unique models with the all of the Ravenwing stuff, veterans, and DW.

I do. I see plenty of space marines but rarely green ones. I see Necrons and Tau and Eldar all the time though. regardless that's beside the point. Space marines already have a codex that green space marines can use. The supplement codices should have been after all the main ones. It's unfair to the rest of the player base and as we have already discussed even if more people play green space marines than necrons or tau, it's a self fulfilling prophecy. More people play them because they get all the attention.

Imagine if they released Iyanden before the main space marine codex.

I wouldn't use your local player base as an assumption for the army distribution world wide. You are 100% correct on the self fulfilling prophecy of the army distribution though, it's always been that way unfortunately. The marines (loyalist and chaos) have almost always gotten the first go and then the Xenos all came second. But the flip side here is that you just need to be patient for 8th, 6 more months and every army should have a codex and it becomes a more or less mute point.
