Halfway painted my raider warband. Dreamed up a mutant warband complete with giant floating psychic head leader many mutant melee monsters, and a trio of somewhat mutated grunts for fire support. Looking forward to building this team.

The paint.

But only just.

Seriously, her feet, arm and staff have gone like wet noodles. The paint's just sitting on but I'm afraid to scrub it in case bits go flying off. Good thing the finecast seems to have gone PVC-bendy rather than easier-to-snap-bendy, and that I was thinking of replacing the staff with brass rod. But still, might also keep an eye out for any metal versions that pop up.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

Working on a D&D campaign. It's up in the air on whether or not I'll actually wind up using it, but I'm having a lot of fun putting the details together to make it appear more cinematic. While I haven't had the chance to try it yet, I feel kind of proud of it so far.

Trying to rehabilitate a Kitech T-80U, and turn it into a modernized one with slat armour for my Ukrainian stuff.

...The only reason it has slat armour in the first place (something only the Ukrainians/ Separatists do, the Russian ones just have ERA) was because I mixed it up with the T-72 kit I have.

Just picked up Zombiecide season 1 at the FLGS. Just washed the models and removed mold lines. My wife and I plan on painting the mini's together then playing the game in the future. She has never painted a mini so she is pretty excited. If she enjoys the game I might pick up another version of Zombiecide.

Mostly painted up Grukk Face-Rippa. I say mostly, because when I got to the "end", I realized I didn't have a lighter green to highlight his flesh with... so until I go to the store, his head blends with his torso and his arm blends with his gun at tabletop distance, because nothing "pops".

So, that tournament I mentioned earlier. I once again went 1-2, but this time I really didn't earn the 1. In the first game, I faced an Ad Mech War Convocation. I just couldn't hit much due to all the 2+ cover saves on the first two turns. My Pathfinders got chased off the board on the first turn, so there went half my markerlights. Stormsurge anchored and blasted away gamely at everything, but really didn't hurt all that much. The only full unit I killed before being tabled was his Imperial Knight. Second game was the win for me. Really couldn't call it a game, my opponent was Necrons in a Decurion, I shot at him and killed a few warriors, his turn he tried to do that deep strike trick with a Lychguard deathstar, scattered off the board, rolled a 1 on mishap table, immediate rage quit. Not exactly screaming like a baby, but just immediately said "I quit", shook my hand, and packed his stuff up. I was really too stunned at the response to get upset, and I was happy to have a win. I still feel like I won, but I didn't beat him. Third game, my opponent was Eldar with Dark Eldar allies, including a Corpsethief Claw formation. He went first after I failed to sieze, and his Wraithknight shot at my Stormsurge with its D cannons, and rolled a 6 on the D table. Splat. There went my chances of winning. I decided not to be a sore loser and went ahead and played it out, but the outcome was very much decided, especially since everything I shot at those Talos engines just bounced off.

What I took away from the tournament: Riptide wing is very solid, those Riptides did some work and were pretty durable. Stormsurge is good, but I should plan better on what I will do if it gets insta-ganked. Also, Ad Mech War Convocation is totally broken. It needs some kind of nerf, or at least needs to not be able to take Flesh Tearers taxi service.

Anyways, enough of my tournament woes. I plan to get some hobbying done before I go to bed tonight, including continuing to assemble my Riptide and putting more base colors on my Dark Angels Devastators.

Managed two games of FoW at FLGS, one win, one loss, trying out lists for Rollcall... Breaking the habit of a lifetime and actually testing a list before submission. No good will come of it.

both lists will get a bit of revision one thinks...

Painting some more Batninjas and I varnished Poison Ivy.

Gotta say, kinda concerned about varnishing Ivy, she ended up having weird spiderweb style cobweb strings hanging from her just after I sprayed it. - I pulled most of them away before the varnish dried, but it's kinda worrying... She seems ok though, a few hours later.

I hate when crap happens during the Varnish step. I've noticed those little wispy things on varnish and sometimes spray paint, I dunno if there's something else in the air when the spray goes by or if it's entirely spray stuff, but usually you can just remove them when everything is dry. If the varnish clouds then you're kinda boned (well several ways to fix it but still unfortunate), but that doesn't sound like what you've got.

I think I finished a Tau Firewarrior today. Really simple white armor grey cloth scheme but I think it works. Gonna ponder a little bit and then probably seal him. I could get to work on his fellows soon if I like how he looks. I think it'll be a good scheme to do after I get back working full time (imminently...) as it's pretty low key without anything fancy or stressful.

Also got more or less finished with a PanO Father Knight. He needs to be dipped. The Tau just got a brown wash because I wanted a different final shade from what the Dip usually gives, but the PanO dude has some white of his own and it really needs that smoother transition that minwax gives as it's cloth etc. If the Father Knight turns out well, I've got a bunch of Primed and ready-to-prime PanO that I can start on soon.

Also ordered a few more minis from the Alkemy range on a whim as this is the last day of the MM sale. $10 total for 9 minis so even if they're bendy/soft featured/15mm I won't be too put out. Yay for MM hold ticket option, just gotta wait for another Deal of the Day or two and I'll have them send my growing order.
