I Watched an older GW video and in it them guy used a much lighter shade than the base to dry brushing with then washed over it and the wash blended it in real well so that's what I been doing but I watched another video and they brushed after they applied wash with just a slightly lighter color than the base.
I'm happy with my results but wonder if I should be dry brushing last?

It really comes down to the effect you're looking for, and what works best for you and your painting style...

Washing after drybrushing helps to blend everything down and smooth it out.

Drybrushing after washing helps to pick out highlights that can be dulled down by washing.

Yeah both, after the wash for contrast, before the wash for a more blended/smooth transition.
