Ultramarine Scout with Sniper Rifle

I don't actually like the idea of painting my Ultramarine Destroyers black with some blue bits here and there. I'd rather paint them blue and make them black via radiation damage. I can't find many images of radiation damage to armour or metal on google, so if someone has good sources, I'd love to see it. I figure base coating blue and then drybrushing black heavily, and then lightly with silver, would look like the paint is coming off (and stands to reason it comes off at the edges first). A friend of mine, GeneralK, has used a sponge technique as well on his Stompa and I wonder if that would work better?
