Hi Dakkites,

I am returning to Dakka after about a year long break. I have a renewed enthusiasm for the hobby and thought I might share the fruits of my labors here.

First up some Ork flyers for Stormcloud attack which is going down well at the club.

1st is my Dakkajet with led effects - green in the Grotpit and flickering yellow in the engine.

2nd are some WIP bits for my WAZbom Blastajet - This thing is 4 years in the making - more pictures soon - ish

Cheers

K

The Dakkajet with LEDs is cool. How'd you get the engine one to flicker?

I've just dropped some LEDs into a Rhino and it went pretty well, but my next LED project will be to put some in/on buildings and I'd like something that flickers - like a fluorescent tube that's about to die (think atmospheric Doom kind of thing). Is yours an LED that flashes, or have you got something cleverer that's more random?

Dark Angels/Deathwing - just getting started!
Space Marines - Stark Crusaders 4500pts/PL244 (2700pts painted)
Eldar - Biel Tan 2000pts
Space Wolves 1500pts

Thanks Guys - it was loads of fun to build.

The Flickering leds are from ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Flashing-Flickering-Candle-LEDs-Red-Blue-White-Green-Yellow-Orange-/121557597705?var=&hash=item1c4d65be09:m:mvX4JfgFps3Sbek_INW_vdA and have all the clever bits built into the tiny head.

Just done the LEDs in my looted Burna bommer

Cheers

Nice to see others coming back into the hobby as well!

Those LEDs in the engines are really awesome, excited to see the model finished. I Will definitely be following this. I'm always a sucker for the yellow ork paint schemes.

Well I love orks and painting them, but my Blood Angels are modeled cutting through a yellow ork pirate army... so I kinda yellow ork pirate army...

Love that fire mage model and you did a great job with the layering on the clothe.

Well done on the kits bashing too. They look like they belong.

As a man that loves a good base, tastefully done snow. I very much approve. Keep up the good work!

@Novasetri thanks but LEDs are dead easy grab some 3v leds and some 3v batteries and have at it.

I am not a massive fan of the GW plastic stand - I was thinking about having a pine tree bent forward with air pressure conveniently touching the bomber in just the right place.

I saw the second to last image of the Bomber, and totally thought the pilot was flying the thing upside down. Had a good laugh.

The LEDs look great and I am excited to see the thing all yellowed up!!

Hi Dakka Jobbers,

I have been having some fun with masking fluid and my airbrush. Although i think that my paint was too tough. I probably need to thin with water in future.

@adamsouza - cheers fella Orks are so much fun.

In other news Kill Team is out and I love creating Kill Teams might even get some finished this time.

Here is my Ogryn Kill team

And a Blood Angel Terminator Sanguinary Priest - (cheeky plug - he is on ebay if anyone is interested) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=172326839466&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT

I make models much faster than I can paint and often without armies to back them up so a few more will be hitting ebay over the coming months. (MODs if this is not ok let me know)

Cheers

Hi Folks,

Been digging out and finishing some conversions.

First we have Vaylund Cal of the Sons of Medusa . He has a white LED inside his chest cavity which shines out through his metal ribs and bionic eye. This was great fun to build.

And 2ndly is my version of Mr Wobbly McWolfyWolfson Otherwise known as Canis Wolfborn The original always annoyed me and thought I could do better. How did I do?

Ha, don't feel bad I have a half finished ork projects going back at least a decade.

The Bad moon jet is awesome. Stupid Necrons flying their moons the wrong way.

The light up guy will be amazing. I can't imagine fiddling with lighting on something that small and fiddly.

Hi Guys - another new project ( i Know)

This is my first Harlequin I am working with a limited colour palette on purpose.

C&C welcome.

I think my black is far to subtle

But I am enjoying the metals

Not done the flesh tone hands yet or the base.

I will probably do some weathering on the feet and lower quarter of the jacket.

Not sure about them gem stones - leave or paint?

Cheers

Your Badmoon yet is amazing lovely conversion and painting.

The Harlequin looks really nice, I think she looks great without the gems painted I think it would break up the colours too much.

That Ork fighta is spectacular. Wonderful concept and attention to detail.

Love the bad moon. Great concept and execution.

I think the harli might look better with the gems, but could see them plain as well. I’d also go light on the weathering. Harlis only have a passing relation with the ground after all...

Getting dirty is so inelegant.
