Whilst I build up a new deathwatch Army can anyone see any MAJOR issue with doing the following for an 1850 list.

Deathwatch Blackspear - roughly 1,000 pts

Imperial Knights - roughly 850 pts


Basically start with just 2 Knights on the table and then Deep Strike the Deathwatch in, no real need to give everyone Drop Pods as Blackspear gives non-vehicle units Deep Strike - Maybe a couple of Drop Pods to come in turn 1 with Beacons.

He might be wondering if you have to have an element from each faction on the table at the start of a game? In which case the answer is no, as long as you have at least one model on the table at the end of a turn you're all good.

I think the question is more likely:

Are two Knights sturdy enough to start on the table and hold on until the deathwatch start deepstriking in?

They're tough enough for most games, and for the other games you'll want to just deploy some Deathwatch on the board instead.
