Going to start a blog here as mine in Warseer seems to be unrecoverable, but I couldn't really come up with a good name as this will include all my painting projects from here on out. Currently I'm working on my Salamanders army (My first and only Marine army...ever. I swear). I also have Eldar and Necron armies that I'll post pictures of once I get them back, and hopefully here soon a 1k Sons CSM. When I get home, I'll post pics of what a finished Salamander will look like for my army.

*EDIT* 12/5/2016: Starting my Thousand Sons army with the goal to have the 1850 built and painted by the 18th for a charity tournament. Pics are at the bottom.

Leviathan Dreadnought for this weekends Tank Shock 1,750 event.

I took these last night, since then I have finished the flamers up front, added another decal, finished the back side, and all the bronze has been given the same treatment as Bray'Arths which is below. I'll update later today.

And some images of Bray'Arth

Here are some images of other units in the army. Most are about 50% done, I like to move from project to project so I don't get burnt out.

Tac Marines, though some have been since converted into Legion of the Damned. The one in the center back is actually finished and I'll get more pics of him shortly.

A Librarian. Mostly done and converted. Unfortunately not able to completely remove the dark angels symbol...

Land Speeder. Originally for the Flame Blade Detachment. It has been finished and I will post new pics later today.

I apologize for the crappy camera all. I'll work on better pics.

Lovely Salamanders green. I often feel people do it either too dark or too light/yellow-y, but your is just right.

That subtle weathering is also pretty spot on., it's easy to get carried away when you start dirtying stuff up

It's a little more difficult now when he's painted but maybe you'd consider sculpting some scales onto the chaplain to hide the remnants of the Dark Angels symbol?

Thanks! The weathering was easy as can be thanks to Hobby Lobby selling a weathering brush. It's a black handle with rough plastic "mesh" at the end that feels like foam so I didn't have to make my own out of actual foam. It makes this job super easy. The green took forever and I've changed it like 2 or 3 times across my whole army (I'm jealous of those who have black or white armies...).

The scales are actually a good idea if I can get someone to sculpt them. I dont personally have any experience myself, but painting them again once they are on is easy enough.

Thanks! I'll have more updates tonight. Working on the bottom half right now, waiting for a wash to dry. Got the arms put together and primed now too.

Almost have the legs finished. Just a few touches here and there.

Gorgeous Salamanders nintura, they look fantastic. You really knocked the green outta the park on that dread. Looking forward to seeing more work, especially your Eldar and upcoming 1k sons (my favourite of the four cult legions). Keep up the good work.

I did not. I normally would, but this is a Sally army and I'm building it as close to fluff as possible, and thanks by the way

Thanks! Yes, I will be. However, I might need to make my own in this case as he's pretty top heavy and huge. Originally I used them for my Eldar, but once I decided to start Salamanders, they ended up being perfect too.

Nice work there. Do you use an airbrush?

I usually do for large parts like the armor plating. I don't have a .2 needle or .15 so I can't really do fine detail yet. I also use it when I need to blend something in, like I did with my Eldar which I'll post here in a bit later today.

Fun note, the obsidian hair on the Avatar was a happy mistake. I airbrushed black straight on at an angle. I got lucky is what I'm saying

Here's a closeup of the hair. I never put a finish or varnish on it. It came out that way. Model is mostly done at this moment.

Another Fun Note, this demon was done almost entirely by drybrushing

Really loving that Avatar, great job. That chaos marine is real slick too. I'm always amazed at how well doing a model 90% by drybrushing works. Stellar job.

Much appreciated guys! Yeah the Avatar was a Pita to paint for sure thanks to all the jagged cracks. It's virtually finished except for the back part and the loincloth. I'm sure I'll finish it once I'm done with my Salamanders though.

The pattern I used for my off-shoot of Ulthwe

My Knight. Yes, it's a Salamanders Knight. Deal with it

Vulkan He'stan. Need to finish his backpack and Spear.

Finally, a preview of my Legion of the Damned models.

Doing some work for a small side project while taking a break from my Salamanders. I wanted to do something different, so I wanted to make the focus of the models the red. It draws the attention and shows the dangerous parts of the bug. I hope the overall effect will look good when you have 100+ bugs across the table and all you see are red faces and claws.

Haha, the gold is easy. the model is based in gold It's painting the blue that sucks. I used the method Duncan did in his video on warhammer tv.

Still need to do some cleanup as well as finish the staff, but this is the Sorcerer for my 1k Sons Rubric Marines. I chose to do them in their pre-heresy colors just to differentiate the Sorcerers from the Automatons, and make them easier to find and count on the battlefield.
