*Cloudstrike (betastrike) List*
Pale Courts:
Autarch --- 80
Fusion Gun
3 x 5 Warp spiders --- 315
Exarch
Iyanden CAD:
Spiritseer --- 70
6 Dire Avengers --- 88
Exarch
Wave Serpent --- 125
TL Scatter, Ghostwalk
5 Wraithguard --- 210
D-Scythes
Wave Serpent --- 125
TL Scatter, Ghostwalk
3 Falcons --- 490
2 Brightlance, 1 Scatterlaser, Holofield, Ghostwalk Matrix, & 3 Shuriken Cannon
Aspect Host:
5 Fire Dragons --- 120
Exarch
5 Fire Dragons --- 120
Exarch
5 Warp Spiders --- 105
Exarch
Total: 1848
******************************************************************************
About half of the time this whole list would probably start off in reserve. It seems to have a lot of flexibility, and just enough Obsec to cover critical objectives. I went for the spiritseer to give the D-scythe wraithguard guaranteed re-roll to wound instead of bringing a farseer for guiding the cloudstrike because guide is liable to be denied.

Serpent Spam
Pale Courts:
Autarch --- 80
Fusion Gun
3 x 5 Warp Spiders --- 315
Exarch
Iyanden CAD:
Farseer --- 100
Spiritseer --- 70
5 Dire Avengers ---- 75
Exarch
5 Wraithguard --- 160
2 x Wave Serpent --- 250
1 TL Brightlance, 1 TL Scatter, & Ghostwalk
Aspect Host (+1 BS):
5 Fire Dragons --- 120
Exarch
5 Fire Dragons --- 120
Exarch
5 Dark Reapers --- 180
All w/ Starshot Ammo, Exarch
3 x Wave Serpent --- 375
TL Scatter and Ghostwalk
Total: 1845
**********************************************************
The only thing I'm unsure about in this list is the 2nd squad of fire dragons, but I couldn't think of a better option. This list has fairly strong board presence and maneuverability, and could still beta strike against drop pods if needed.
*******************************************************************
Let me know which one you would bring and why!
I really appreciate the input.

avengers in a cloud strike seem weak to me. you go through all the effort to drop them in the right spot just to.... shoot 6 catapults. IMO, i would find a way to make 2-3 of the cloud strikes fire dragons.
also, what plans do you have for AA? will the reapers cut it?
other then that, the list seems solid.

I updated both of the list after taking your advice under consideration. The 2 DA squads were overkill for the amount of objective secured I need in the cloudstrike, 1 will do. In the first list I put the second squad of OS dire avengers in a wave serpent for another Obejective secured unit. IN the second list I dropped the 2nd squad of dire avengers since the wraithguard count as troops with the iyanden supplement (used the extra points on star engines for d-scythe guard and an extra dire avenger). I tried to streamline the lists as best as I could without using bikes. They look a lot more similar now, but that means it should be harder to pick which one is better. The biggest problem with both lists is anti-air, and the biggest difference between them is that list 1 has dark reapers and list 2 has d-scythe wraithguard.

It seems like a huge waste of firepower to have all three falcons fire at the same target. I really like the idea of cloudstrike but I find it harder and harder to deepstrike 3 falcons exactly where I want them. People are spreading their army more and more in order to avoid drop pods so three falcons are really hard to fit.

Not too sure about the lists. I guess what's most natural - almost cliche - is for the Cloudstrike to carry the Dragons.
That being said, I like the idea of the Cloudstrike. Have you tried it yet? I'm curious myself

I tried a cloud strike list a long time ago, but it was mixed with some footdar so it didn't do too well. I've been wanting to try it out with a fully mechanized list.
Also just for clarification, I did change the lists to put 2 fire dragon squads in each cloudstrike.
Even though the falcons have to fire at one target I don't think it's wasted. Especially since everything else is split up into multiple small shooting attacks

Decided to try and compare serpent spam against cloudstrike.
I know these aren't 'optimal' lists, but I never really liked all the jetbikes from 6th and 7th ed. I'm trying to bring back tank/serpent spam, but I could use some help comparing what would have the best chance against a top tier list.

For the Serpent list drop the pale courts and just use a Second Aspect host for the spiders. Use the points you saved on the Autarch to turn the Dire Avengers into another unit of Wraithguard.

What about the +1 on reserve rolls? If I ever do reserve any units it'll be extremely valuable
