So I am trying to put together easy to learn army lists with the models I have and some beginner restrictions.
I play Eldar and Daemons and what to make 1000pts list that are close to equally matched, but a slight edge to the Daemon side.
Restrictions: No Psychic powers, Warlord traits or random rolling. No AV yet. Nothing flying. CAD only
We will be treating Daemonic Instability as Fearless instead and ignoring the Warpstorm. No challenge rules, no fancy upgrades
We will be playing a simplified mission. 3 objectives & Kill points. Slay the Warlord, First Blood & Line Breaker included
My son will have this list:
Khorne Herald on juggernaut
3 Nurglings
3 Nurglings
3 Nurglings
2 Beasts of Nurgle
2 Beasts of Nurgle
16 Flesh Hounds
6 Screamers
6 Screamers
-----------------------------------999 pts
Pretty simple "rush" list with naturally durable units and plenty of wounds. My son is 10 and can get frustrated if things don't go just right, so I am introducing him to this kind of list because it has the durability to be forgiving, but he will still lose models which should get him use to it. It also shouldn't need much finesse, just run at me
My List
Autarch Skyrunner w/ Laser Lance & Banshee mask
5 Windriders w. 3 Scatterlasers
3 Windriders w. 1 Scatter laser
3 Windriders w. 1 Scatter laser
3 Windriders w. 1 Scatter laser
9 Dire Avengers inc. Exarch
9 Dire Avengers inc. Exarch
Wraithlord w. Flamers, Glaive & 2x Scatterlasers
Wraithlord w. Flamers, Glaive & 2x Scatterlasers
--------------------------------------------982 pts
More than half the bikes do not have Scatterlasers and I have Wraithlords (which his Herald, Nurlge Beasts & Screamers should be able to handle). I also have squishy Avengers that will not be able to out run his units.
So are these lists balanced against each other? Is the Eldar list still too much for the Daemons, or did I over compensate and the Eldar will get tabled? I want him to win, but I am not going to "let" him win once the dice start rolling.
