Subject: "Industrial" Bases?

Does anyone besides epicast make bases? Specifically "industrial", deck plate looking bases? Do they make deck plate looking plasticard I can glue on to the bases? The epicast bases are nice, but pricey. I may end up using them anyway, but I'd like to see all my options first.

http://www.plastruct.com/Get in contact with them, they sell all kinds of textured plastic sheets. Some in diamond-plate patterns, brick patterns, cobblestone, all kinds of different sets. They may be able to help you with local retailer locations or sell to you directly. It's the only significant brand I can find in my area, but thankfully they offer a very large and varied selection of plastics.

Diamond plate probably would look awesome if it was painted up all shiny. Hmmmmm. There's a store local to me that has a big plastruct display. Maybe I'll head over today.

http://champindustries.net/contact.htmlPlastic futuristic bases. $.30 each, $3 shipping (so buy a lot). I've seen pretty good reviews of 'em, and have considered buying them for a while. They only make 25mm (? The smaller sized-bases) though.

I have industrial bases for my Orlock gang. Basically it's O scale diamond plate flooring and pipes made from styrene tubing, along with some misc. bitz. It only cost me about $6 for the material for ten bases and I still have enough left over to do at least 20 bases. I highly recommend making your own. It's fast, easy, and has a lot more variety than precast bases.
Good luck!

i used window screen material to cover the bases of my Bassy crew.
it gives them the appearance of standing on the grate floor of the Bassy.
as far as cost goes, i got the material for free, from scraps that were being tossed.

The smaller sized-bases) though. Okay, I have a couple of sets of these which I used for my Necromunda figs. They are exactly like the GW bases, except with a textured top instead of the plain one. The only issues I have with Champ Industries is that after five years they have not expanded their product line, though I expect this may be due to low volume or such. I would love to see other sizes and perhaps other styles of bases, but am not holding my breath.

Here's a link to the pics of my Necro figs. Don't know if you'll be able to make out the bases (my work computer makes them appear too dark, although they appear fine on the one at home, who knows?)

I've bought from Champ Ind. too; good product, good price, quick shipper. I have nothing but good to say about them (though I agree with Breotan, it'd be nice to see them expand their line.)
