Subject: [200] - Skitarii Kill Team

I feel like there's not really a lot of comments to be made on kill team lists most of the time, but I'd just like some fresh eyes on this in case I'm missing something or could do something better. Plus I keep going back and forth on specialists.
Skitarii Vanguard:
Vanguard Alpha - radium carbine, conversion field (4++)
9 x vanguard - 6x rad carbine, 3x arc rifle
Sydonian Dragoon: radium jezzail
My reasoning for the conversion field on the leader was having 10 extra points. That could go into adding the phosphor serpenta to the dragoon instead, I just liked the survivability option, and the list is pretty shooty as is.
I gave the dragoon the sniper gun instead of the taser lance because it's still Str 5 and that should be able to hurt anything I encounter in KT to my knowledge, so why not add some shooting instead of keeping it melee?
3 Arc Rifles because Str 6 is good, and they have haywire for vehicles. I like the vanguard rad carbines a lot, they're really doing a lot of work for me so far. They may need higher numbers to wound but the occasional 6 balances that out by doing 2 wounds.
Specialists were all rad carbines last time I used the team, giving one Infiltrate, one the +1 BS, and one Killer Instinct (fleshbane cc attacks). The infiltrator really pans out well it seems, the +1 BS is good but there are other good options in the same specialty, and Killer Instinct was used on a whim just to try it. The thing with Killer Instinct though is that 1) I don't want my skitarii in melee, and 2) there's not a good way to guarantee that *this* skitarii gets in melee. So I'm thinking switch that into the Indomitable tree, but for what?
Thoughts on anything? Thanks!

You would be better swapping the arc rifles for plasma calivers imo. Most, if not all vehicles in kill team will be quite easy to deal using the S7 so haywire is probably not needed. The greater number of shots and lower AP will probably make it more useful against infantry as well. Just an idea

That is a 90pt difference though, if I am mathing correctly. I don't think you can do that many Plasma easily at 200pt. At least one with Preferred Enemy though, because lol re-rolls.

I don't know much about kill teams but yes, switching to plasma calivers would cost 15 pts more for each (arc rifle 15 pts, plasma caliver 30 pts). Do you have Preferred Enemy with the Kill team thing ? Because if you don't, playing 3 guys with plasma calivers who shoot 3 times each would be kinda dangerous. Arc rifles are still nice to face enemy vehicles, and pack a nice punch with Rapid Fire S6 shots.
The conversion field is good to add some durability to your Alpha, but beware the blinding effect, might not be that good against Eldars and the likes. I wonder, if you save a wound from an enemy shot, does the blinding effect applies ? Would that mean that your opponent could just try to blind you from a distance ? Seems a little crippling to me but I'm not sure about that rule :/

If I were to do plasma calivers, I would have to reduce bodies or take less special weapons. Because I did consider it! I felt confident with the redundancy and strength of the arc rifles though. Having one with preferred enemy would probably be pretty durn good though... And for the blinding, it hasn't really hurt me much yet. I will probably test moving those 10 points around to other wargear to see what works best, but the blinding effect only affects units within D6" and I've just kept the Alpha screened off so far, usually only 1-2 of my units are testing for it. Initially I put it on just so AP4 or better weapons wouldn't instantly award Slay the Leader. I'll definitely be checking out these options, thanks guys!

I mostly suggested the plasma calivers as a personal preference. I don't really like the arc rifles much because they've never really done much for me.

I appreciate the feedback! That's what this is all about, giving me other options to consider and test in case something is better than what i'm doing.
