Hey guys, trying to make a cool Angel's Blade. I still can't decide between the captain and command squad or the chaplain and furioso. It actually almost makes me flip tables that you can't take a captain and furioso and that it forces you to take a chaplain for it or a captain for a command squad. And we also HAVE to take a basic dread as well? Why can't that be switched out for a Furioso either? *sigh...* but anyway, here's my list:

---Angel's Blade---
CORE
- Chaplain w/ JP
- Furioso w/ Frag Cannon and Heavy Flamer (though Melta might be handy) in a pod
- Dread w/ Multi-Melta, Fist and Heavy Flamer in a pod
- 10x Tac marines w/ Heavy Flamer, Flamer in a pod
- 10x Tac marines w/ Heavy Flamer, Flamer in a pod
- 10x Tac marines w/ Multi-Melta, Melta in a pod
- 10x Assault Marines w/ 2x Flamer, Combi-flamer, JP's
- 5x Devastators w/ 2x Grav Cannons in a pod
AUGILERY
- 5x Bikes w/ 2x Grav Guns, Combi-Grav

6 drop pods is kind of annoying, I'd rather maybe 5. But it's all kinda necessary. Also, having only the Assault Squad and bikes on the table is a bit rough. They'll get obliterated instantly haha.
Anyway, I like the idea of the chapter tactics and basically working like any other marine chapter, but I can assault if needed. And when my dudes get knocked down to under half Str they are next to fearless and even better on the charge. I also took the Assault marines over another squad of bikes because I really like the look of assault squads. They might also work alright as either a counter charge unit or a distraction perhaps. And with all the Flamer capability they wouldn't do too badly against hordes.
What do you guys think?

I'm never sure on the captain/chaplain decision either, but a captain + command squad w jump packs, storm shields and melta guns is a fun kill team.

I feel I'd rather have the mandatory normal dread w rifleman loadout sitting near the devs for a firebase, but you can swap back in the CC/DP loadout within the points if you want 5 pods instead of 4.

Let the full-flamer tacs and the furioso tackle hordes, as melta ASM can annoy a lot of things.

So something like:

++ Command (152) ++
Leaders of the Angelic Host
- Sanguinary Priest w JP, additional weapon
Leaders of the Angelic Host
- Sanguinary Priest w JP, additional weapon

++ Core (1120) ++
Battle Demi Company
- Chaplain w JP
- Furioso w Frag Cannon, HF + DP
- 10 Tacs w HF, F + DP
- 10 Tacs w HF, F + DP
- 5 Tacs w HF (or MM) + DP
- 5 Devs w 5x ML
- Dreadnought w 2x TL AC
- 5 ASM w JP, 2x MG

++ Aux (210) ++
Rapid Assault Force
- 5 ASM w JP, 2x MG
- 5 ASM w JP, 2x MG

1482

Priests and Chaplain each join an assault squad to spread the threat a little. You end up a few marines down overall but I think they bring more decent guns to the table.

I, er, can't stand bikers so have no real take on their worth.

I don't know much about drop podding Devs either, I'm afraid - I like that we have grav cannons now, but would probably only use them with the Lucifer formation scouting bonus.

Bikers are just about the best thing in the book. Way better than jump troops.
