Well a good friend of mine is going to be competing in the Toronto GT this weekend and decided he wants to 'sharpen his teeth' on my new tau (still mostly grey and unpainted) What I am looking for here is a list that will hopefully bring him down a notch (because he does need it) but also help him out with some practice for the GT. This will probably be a bit of an unfair list b/c I know what his army looks like, he runs a lot of rhinos & razorbacks (5 total I beleive) 2 dreads (neither Venerable), I think 2 speeders (I always kill them as quickly as I can so memory of them fades) and some scouts. He does NOT have a master so he is playing with LD8 not 10 so pinning weapons are a lot more effective here than against most marine armies Here is what I have: HQ: Shas'el, MP/PR Targe Array & HWMT Shas'el, MP/PR Targe Array & HWMT Pretty Standard, no need for explanation here Elite: 1- 2x Fireknife 2- 2x TLMP & Blacksun Filter 1x TLMP & Target Lock Although Frowned upon, I think that the TLMP are going to play a pivitol role b/c they are perfect for popping AV11/AV10 3- 6x Stealth This is something I am thinking about dropping because he usually doesn't like to get out of his armor until turn 4 or 5 but since I can pop his armor with Burst Cannons they might just come in handy, especially if I can get shots at the side/rear. Troop: 1- 9x FW w/ PR + Sushi with Marker Light & HWMT 2-5 4 Squads 12 Kroot no upgrades Fast Attack= NONE Heavy: 1-2: 2 RailHeads w/ SMS, Multi Track, Target Lock & Decoy Launchers 3: 3 Sniper Drone Teams Total: 1699pts *************** Suggestions are needed here. I figure the Railheads can take the dreads pretty quickly and if needed the Missle Pods can back them up. I have issues with taking 3 crisis suits in the same unit though (VP purposes) but I have all my Elite Slots taken up and feel I need the extra firepower.
