Another expansion, called "The Deep," has been unlocked as a stretch goal. The figure concepts and the artwork for the expansion cards are by guest artist Keegan McGee. This one features a modular figure that can be built as a Shark Knight or an Eel Sorcerer. Here's the Shark Knight concept and renders (WIP):

Stay tuned for previews of the Eel Sorcerer! The 8-card booster pack is $5 and each figure is $10.

I went all in on this. Really like the mechanics and the setting.

I'm hoping it hits the level to unlock the campaign setting. Could be a nice intro-level game to get my younger son interested in Mordheim/Frostgrave.

I'd also love to see the "adventure mode" book unlocked, I think that would make this game - which is fairly simple as a one-off play experience - really blossom.

I could have sworn I backed the first one but I guess I missed it :/

I'm stretched thin at the moment but I'll toss in a few bucks. That undead .. uh.. gnoll (is it?) is pretty sweet!

I backed the first kickstarter. It had one of the fastest turnarounds, great art, and some of th best metal models I've had (little to no flash at all).

Oh, and the game is fun too

It's worth noting that the first KS did indeed deliver exactly on time.

This is a fantastic game. The rules are simple, streamlined, and a lot of fun. The models are very nice and ooze character, and the artwork is amazing. Top it off with Sean being a very nice and responsive guy (In my experience, if you ask a question on the kickstarter or FB pages he gets back to you in less time than companies with tens more employees), and this one is a no-brainer.
I'm also really hoping we can unlock those campaign rules.

Oh and being able to play a miniature game on a 2x2 is a real treat. Not having to set up a special table and just being able to throw some terrain and a mat on my dining table is a small, but significant boon to me. It also makes putting together customer tables much easier (And much easier to store).

Sean is definitely a cool guy. I ordered the box set and it arrived with a hand-written note and hand-drawn sketches of the Questing Knight fighting some Pig-Men!

Nice! When I ordered my boxed set I got a note as ell and sketch of the Dark Wanderer. It's nice to see him add a personal touch to his works, especially with (what I imagine) is a very busy schedule running his one-man operation and also freelancing on comics and minis.

this right here is EXACTLY what Kcikstarter is for and is the epitome of a great start up. Sean is a greta artist and seems liek a really nice guy with real love of the genre and audience. he makes a great product and deserves great success!

I'm really thinking about backing this and getting the 2-player starter as well after watching the GMG vids. How is the replayability though? Like, are there enough different upgrades to make each game meaningfully different? Of course, I imagine as he creates new factions (such as this kickstarter), that exponentially increases anyway.

Do you mean, are there enough equipment/spell/etc cards to make multiple builds of each hero? Yes indeed.

Where the game suffers, as of now, is there need to be more scenarios. There is a central motif - "get the relic" - but just like FG is more than "get the treasures," Relicblade could use more support there. I think this is why several posters are looking forward to the campaign book.

That is exactly what I was asking, thanks!

And yeah, that does sound good. A bit over 1k to go for that stretch goal!

I was mostly asking because I'd be buying it as the one copy of the game among my small gaming group, and wanted to make sure it would be something we can play continuously without the game feeling like it's the same most of the time, because it looks amazing but if the gameplay was too repetitive I'd rather spend the money on other skirmish games we're getting into. I appreciate the answer!

As it is, I don't think Relicblade is really competitive with other low-model count games out there when it comes to campaigns - I'm thinking mostly about This Is Not A Test, Empire of the Dead, and Strange Aeons. But none of those are fantasy games. I presume you were looking for a fantasy skirmish game. Which ones were you thinking about? Frostgrave?

As for gameplay, the GMG vids give a good idea about it. In one of the vids, I think in their wrap up comments, they talk a little bit about how they would build more competitive lists. It might be worth your time to give that a watch.

Probably (Advanced?) Song of Blades and Heroes? That's a great fantasy skirmish game.

We all started 40k together and are starting to look at smaller model-count games like warmachine/hordes, malifaux, guild ball. Looking at this I thought it might be a cool small game to do in between the others and mess around, but I didn't want to spend too much money on it if it was going to be something that could get boring quickly. It also seems reminiscent of D&D stylings, and that's something I've been into for about 15 years. I haven't looked into Frostgrave at all, is that similar to this?

Really, though, the models are great on this and the game seems pretty good, so I'm leaning yes here.

Seconded - I'm also in the market for a small, straight-forward fantasy skirmish and would like to know the broad strokes of how this is different from Frostgrave. I've been considering that too - my impression is it's more campaign based.

I know there's a game called Moonstone that's also funding at the moment, I think there's a thread on it here. Cool looking models, but I'm not so sure about the game aspect - seems to be based on a bluff mechanic.

Definitely go for Advanced. I have been falling in love with it pretty recently, despite not like the earlier Revised edition from several years ago. The campaign rules, however, do not seem very robust. And while ASoBH has the great strength of being generic, I'd argued that one of Relicblade's great strength's is Sean's consistent and distinctive style across miniatures and cards.

FG and Relicblade don't have too much in common. Relicblade is even lower model count than FG and really drills down to the abilities of each model, where each Relicblade character is more customizable than a given FG warband member. Also, FG tends to be about one model, the Wizard, directing and supporting all the other models in his warband. The main goal in a session of FG, scenarios aside, is for your models to get to, pick up, and leave the table with treasure tokens (which do not come into play during the current session) in competition with the opponent. Right now, Relicblade is more of a straight-up brawl and there is one relic marker at the center of the board. When one of the players' models "picks it up" that player draws a card to see what it is. The relics are pretty powerful, so there is a sort of race to the relic tactical dimension because the relic can be used during the session in which it is found.

I might end up contributing - I'm currently backing at the everything level currently, but I might roll it back to the expansion level and just order the starter box from the website

Plus I'd pay shipping twice. I guess I can wait, especially since Conan apparently shows up today.

Very stoked for this game!

Campaign book is finished and he is looking for a printer. Everything else is already done.

This looks really really great!

There's a new KS coming for Relicblade this week, with a couple of new factions (gangster lizardmen and mystic elves, I gather?).

I backed the KS that delivered earlier this year and have been very impressed so far. The minis are absolutely beautiful, particularly the Lone Guard and Darkness factions (i.e. the most recent ones). And the game plays quickly and decisively, with a fun campaign mode.

I agree. Fantastic models and rules.
Kickstarter is on Friday, definetely in for at least the two new factions.

...lizardmen you say?

I guess I'll be logging in to Kickstarter more often than usual this week.\

I wanted to back the previous campaigns but while the minis were quite nice looking, they weren't anything that fit in with the bulk of my collection.

Lizards though...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
