The green on the helbrute and the orange on the plague marines specifically. But just a general idea of how you make stuff so vibrant would be informative too.

Hello all, It has been a long time since I've posted anything. So I bring you an update.

I've decided on a new paint scheme, something of a cross between Sons of Horus and Alpha Legion.

First up, we have a squad of autogun cultists. Heavily inspired by the cultists from Dawn of War 2.



For your reference, I've attached a photo of the colour scheme I'm aiming for, also included are the cultists which inspired this creation.



Below is a 6 Chaos Space Marine team, you may recognize some of my old models have repainted their armour. The basics are there and I've still working on fine tuning the armour colour and figuring out which combination of paints to use to paint the trim. They are led by a sorcerer (bearing the axe) who has a confirmed victory over chaplain Lemartes.



This is a shot of the strike force as it stands right now. I only play fun games, so we bend the rules a little bit wherever thematic. The cultist squad is lead by a barebones Chaos Space Marine, who was elevated from the cult through the course of several games with my friend who plays Blood Angels, ultimately scoring two marine kills, and of final note, the astartes shotgun that our khorne blessed friend totes around.



Currently the armour is based with a mixed light green, before being washed. I've still learning how to wash large surfaces such as that of the rhino to get a smooth finish and I'm undecided on the weapon colour.

@evildrcheese the green on the helbrute is P3 necrolight green, and the Orange on the Icon is a combo of browns to emulate rust.

Really like the iron and black theme on the CSM guys. It makes them look dark and imposing, I don't like gold on chaos marines

@ExcommunicatusMade They are the spellcrow heads. Spellcrow was amazing to work with too. I emailed them asking if I could just get 10 of those heads instead of mixing and matching. They were happy to do so. I would recommend buying from them any day.

@Snake Tortoise The iron and black look really good under a white painting light, or in photos, but they are lackluster in any other lighting, especially when gaming. Painting such a dark metal is not a joy either as metal paints are difficult to work with. FYI the model in your profile pic is wicked cool!

I like those Havoc conversions. Plenty of character to them!

The havocs are fantastic, but there are so many good conversions it seems remiss not to mention that the quality of your conversions generally is fantastic!

I realy like the cultists. Also the colors used are great.

Finished group A of the Traitor Guardsmen from Blackstone fortress. Really AMPLIFIED! you can use them in regular games of 40K.

Still working on the photo quality bear with me.
