I... actually don't know. Help?

I'm thinking about taking 2-3 Rune Priests to buff a Thunderstar. What powers should I roll for? I'm thinking sanctic daemonology?

Start on Librarius looking for Veil of Time. 3++ rerollable solves all problems except straight D.

After Veil, with only 6 rolls or so total its up to you. Either telepathy for Invisibility or biomancy for Endurance are both good. I prefer Biomancy as the other buff powers help makes the Rune Priests deadlier which is always good.

PanzerLeader pretty much nailed it on the head.

Veil of Time and Invisibility are the two powers you're fishing for. Please note, you will "never" get both - of course you might get both every once in a while but you can't rely on it. Especially since you aren't running a conclave, casting multiple powers successfully gets iffy.

With practice you'll start to see which power you need against which armies.

For example (personally) - I look for Veil of Time against AdMech and Tau. I lean towards Invis against Eldar and Knights. Aiming for one of these two powers is all I "bank" on.

Afterwards, I generally don't go for the other, I start aiming for Endurance if I think I need the extra +1/+2 FNP (assuming you have an Apothecary/ Wolf Priest in your star.

Rune Priest cannot get Telepathy discipline. So unless you take allied SM librarians it will now just come down to Veil of Time and Endurance. Moreover, how about Geokinesis, to restore D3 wounds on your unit and move the terrain to allow an easy charge?

Veil of Time it is! Haha.

If Shifting Worldscape isn't ban, you can always roll for it and do well in any scene. That power is truly outrageous. *thumbsup* Earth Blood is good, but most models in a star is only 2 wounds so it's 'hard' to use it with great effect. But it's a solid alternative for rolling for Shifting and ending up short.

Veil of Time into Shifting (or Endurance if Shifting is banned). My picks.
