Subject: Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy (New Trailer, Release Date - 18th April)
Revealed LIVE on stage at The Games Awards, today we can officially announce a previously-top-secret project we’ve been quietly working on behind the scenes… an interactive episodic game series based on Marvel's iconic Guardians of the Galaxy!
Titled Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, you can expect to see the first episode of this new five-part adventure premiere digitally in 2017 on home consoles, PC, and mobile devices.
What did Telltale and Marvel have to say about the project in the official announcement? Read on…
"The energizing blend of humor, emotion, teamwork, and full-on sci-fi action-adventure of the Guardians provides an enormously satisfying space to explore through Telltale’s unique style of interactive storytelling," said Kevin Bruner, Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Games. "In Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot’s seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we’ve been developing when it premieres in 2017."
“With story at the core of everything that Marvel creates, who better to team with than master storytellers Telltale Games,” said Jay Ong, Senior Vice President, Games & Innovation, Marvel Entertainment. “Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series* fully showcases Marvel and Telltale’s rich legacy of storytelling, and fans will find themselves immersed in an original, character-driven narrative. As part of our strategy to establish a new standard for Marvel games, this is certainly among the great titles to come.”*
Just take my money already!
Spoiler:
Yes yes, it's only a teaser trailer that basically tells us nothing. Still, what do you lot think about this in terms of potential? I think I made my view clear

My desktop is already cluttered with games I know I'm never going to uninstall and absolutely need sequels for. I haven't even played Batman yet! Slow down, you monsters! Give us Wolf Among Us 2! Aaaaaaargh!

ToBorderlands got released right about the same time as Game of Thrones. GoT was the higher priority game, so it got more resources than Borderlands, and got released much more quickly.
Guardians of the Galaxy is a pretty high profile subject matter. So I suspect that they won't be skimping on the development resources for this one.
Ironically, while I purchased both GoT and ToBorderlands, I never played past Chapter 2 of the former. I keep meaning to play through it all, but it's never really been that high on my list of things to do.

Which was kind of a pity because GoT's game was pretty meh while the Borderlands one was actually very good.

While I do enjoy telltale games, though they REALLY need to finish one series before starting another. Looking at you, walking dead season 3.
I'm in agreement with both of you - that trailer's only saving grace was the music at the end
It also worries me that TWD Season 3's latest episode has some really janky animations, especially compared to previous titles. Not looking good for Telltale at all...

It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the fact that they've repeatedly demonstrated that they *CAN'T* do two games at once without delaying one of them *cough*TalesfromtheBorderlands*cough*
