Hey Dakkaz,

First I want to appologize the way I work this out, I have no clou, how to write after the pics, so I do it the way I know
Second, my English isn´t the best - so sorry for that

After losing too many games with my Orks, I decided to go back to the army I first started with: Space Marines.

As many, I really love most of their models BUT there´re a few, I just don´t like the way they are straight out the box.
SM-Bikes are one of those units I really think are not that great looking.
So I first tried to avoid adding Bikes to my army. But then I wanted to get some Scout Bikes, which in my opinion look okay.

After buying a box Scoutbikers, I took a good look at the models and thought about what I could change, to make them look a bit better.
So I began to cut here, glue there, add stuff to this and try something else... now I like them a lot more. (Pics will follow)

Now I thought about buying Scoutbikers and put regular SM on em cause the Scoutbikes look not as bulky as the SM-Bikes do. But to be honest, that would be
way to expensive to justify this idea - soooooo what?!

Next I found out, that the Deathwatch Biker-set contains 5 instead of 3 models, which can be build as regular SM-Bikes at a lower cost/ per model than the 3-model-set.
And with a 20% off at a store here in Germany, I ordered it.

Now let´s get into the topic.

I started with miner conversions, like adding exhaust pipes as can be seen in different YouTube vids.

Next I cut the windshield in three parts - I only need the headlight cause in my opinion, the windshield makes the bike way to bulky.
I even cut off the little pieces on the back of the headlights.

After that I changed a bit on the foot rest thing...
On a few bikes I cut off the foot rest completely and added a plastic rod instead to give it a more realistic look (see pics later on)

As I didn´t want the bikes to look too static, I wanted to change the angle of the front wheel - as I did to a Scoutbiker before.
I cut the front section off as can be seen in the pics, filed them to be as smooth as possible and than added a little piece of plastic card to both ends.
After that I put a platic rod (2mm) to work as an axle.

Now the main body of the bike is done and cause I cut the windshield, I mounted the bolters to the mudguard.
There for I had to smooth out the inside of the bolters as well as the rim on the mudguard.
Attach the headlight - cut off the little things on the bumpers and the bike is done.

All that´s left is the driver. So, the driver itself fits on as usual, but the arms have to be cut, twisted and re-positioned.
I only did the right arm cause the left would look some kind of weird.

Here´re some other converted bikers.
The ATV / Quadbike is made from one bike. I just recasted the missing halves of the wheels with instand mold and green stuff - not my best work but a bit of "mud" fixed that.
As you might see, my airbrush didn´t do it´s job too well with the greyish white...

I´ll try to add pics of all my converted bikes as soon as I can

C&C welcome

Cool conversions, one thing that throws me off however is the Boltguns, they look a bit awkward just stuck on there, and the clips just end with the slanted edge. Giving them box mags for example, would really help.

Cool, you made a gungoose. I might have to nick that idea for my army instead of doing the sidecars, those always looked a tad silly.

At the risk of necro, I just wanted to see if anyone else thinks these resemble the RT era Vincent Black Shadows?
