Just a quick post to see if any Dakkanauts had an opinion on the (fairly) recently released game, Star Trek Ascendancy?

Reading about it, sounds like the dream board game for '4x' and Star Trek fans. I did see that it included little miniatures of Galaxy-class starships, which almost tempted me just by themselves!

So is this game more of a Picard taking on the Borg, or a Janeway being annoyingly inconsistent about the prime directive? Very grateful for any thoughts or opinions on the game!

I've managed to get 4 play throughs in on the copy I got at Gencon (which is a good amount for me!), and I think it's awesome. I've succeeded in getting my wife and Mom to play the game, and the most complex game they both normally play is Catan. The D6G review of the game really captured my thoughts on it. What is really needed though is for the long-delayed expansions to arrive. The latest word I've heard is late Feb/early March.
