I was hoping for some German/Soviet WW2 fow stuff on sale but they had sold out. They did however have 2 starter sets and some tanks for the great war on sale. Though a lack of will power I thought I would give it a bash

Any ideas on what else I might need?

Since Great War is fought on a 4 x 4 table, you've actually got quite a lot of stuff.

Using the brown sprue bits from those kits (whittled them easily into logs) I used spare medium bases to make MG emplacements.

I also used excess German infantry (basing x3 instead of x4 on every base) to make a platoon of sturmtroops.

Might be worth it to invest in the trench system set if they have them/you're inclined.

Oooh news toys. Have to show us some pics of your minis when you have painted some. Also check out the plastic soldier company under their board game section they have a few ww1 kits for sale.

Plus pre painted tanks although only with a basic colour, add some weathering and plenty of mud and you'd be all set.

I will hopefully make a start on them this weekend, just finishing off 8 Panthers for my WW2 Germans.

Good shout on PSC I forgot about their WW1 game.

You hardly need more tanks but PSC's 18pdrs may come in handy.

You'll probably want plenty of suitable terrain. I don't know what you have right now, but remember that this is 1918 World War I, and not the World War 2 battlefield. You don't have to play with trenches, barbed wire, craters, etc..., but they'll go a long way toward adding to the "World War I" feel of things.

Good plan, our FoW games dtend to be eastern front so lots of fields and roads. Should have some trenches arriving today and going to make some razor wire and shattered trees and buildings etc.

Should be on paternity leave for 2 weeks any day now so hope to get it done now.

Been waiting on the milliput on these panters to dry (magnatising the hulls) so thought I would paint up some older panzers.

(Might need a flare)
