Brilliant. I've been meaning to buy this book and couldn't ask for a better reminder. That looked like a very characterful game.

This game was thrown together in minutes and is an example of the game at its worst, honestly (thanks to my lack of prep) ... the good news is, even taking that into account, the game still produces nail biting rolls and more than a few times where I yelled "YESSSS!" The game is absolutely worth its price.

I picked up on that. But I was still eager to see if the elves could bust through the blightkings' armour. And batreps usually bore me!

jmurph - there are some limited campaign rules in the main book but I believe ASoBH is meant to be a series of books - the first expansion (all about Dwarves) has already come out; it's called Hammer & Forge. I am not aware of any mechanics for solo play but one person could easily run both sides.

Those nurgle boys are tough! Even if they went down this time, it took some doing.

My print-on-demand copy of ASBH (Asobah?) dropped through the letterbox yesterday. Need to give it a good read sometime.
