So Im working on my first points list for AoS and Im trying to make it reasonably competitive since there's a small eight person tournament coming up at a shop near me. This would be my first tournament.

Here's what I have to work with

2x Contents of the starter Box
Gore Chosen Heroes + 2nd Slaughterpriest from WD.


Id like to make use of the Aspiring Deathbringer as my Warlord but not sure how to work him in yet, and the Exalted seems like he'd pair well with whatever warlord I do have. Is it worth losing the Battalion bonus to swap units out for either of these?

Another option Ive been considering is the Blood Feast Battalion, breaking the Reavers into 10 man teams, with the formation granting them ignore battleshock I was thinking this may be viable, plus it doesnt hurt to have the Priest to unbind spells.


What I have so far is the Goreblade Warband, which is exactly 1000 points.

20x Reavers
20x Reavers

After trying out this list I decided to make one minor change to the list. Dropping half the Bloodreavers who dont fit into the Battalion and replacing them with a 2nd Bloodsecrator.

This lets me stagger move the Bloodsecrators while keeping one with the Standard planted, as I found when I had to move him I lost a lot of my hitting power.

Artifacts I would choose the Crown of Conquest for the Bloodstoker and the MLoK would take either Favour of the Gods for +1 Wound or Chaos Runeblade for +1 Attack

I also play the Goreblade Warband at 1000 points, for a tournament the second Bloodsecrator is a good choice, but he works very well with Bloodreavers and you drop them!

Good Point, hadnt even thought of that about the reavers.

So Ill run with what you suggested, only change for now in the interests of my wallet is the 30x Reavers will be with Reaver blades just because a good chunk of my reavers are from the starter set.

The other 20 Ill use the box I bought with Meatrippers.
