As it says show off your random looking and or unusual objective markers, add a little bit on how you made it and out of what,if you can remember.
I like making themed markers to make use of some of the odd bits i have about,or just to add some variety to a force, example being a chaos princes treasures, anyone who would like to copy my markers go ahead, and any fresh ideas on tyranid objective marker ideas would be sweet.

"My Collection So Far"

1st up Fuel Objective markers. usually used in loot missions where a certain amount must be gathered before the enemy side does the same, and or in citys of death games, where if placed in a fortification or building grants the "torrent" special rule.usable by all but a couple of armys.

Ammo Stash/Dump Markers, used in both citys of death & loot missions,or to represent single use weapons like the demo charge,or add effects such as re-rolls to hit.

Random Use markers, such as water rations for arid moons deserts etc, adding extra turns once collected.
Spoiler:

Night Vision Scanners adding dice to distance that can be seen in night fighting ruled games.

Observation points,Strategic Asset Used on scout missions where a certain amount would have be to reached, before evacuation taking vital info back to the main force.

Weapons Markers, again used in loot missions, and or tech gathering missions for inquisitors, skitarii.

Booby Traps,Used in Citys of death to make building explode upon entering.

Chaos Markers, used as summoning points,or add special rules such as fear, fearless, counter attack etc.

Treasure used in loot missions,or as a nice addition or a daemon princes goodys.

Necron Resurrection Orbs read picture description in my album objective markers to find out how i made it and its use.

Lastly the few Tyranid objective markers i could think of making and one of them is don't really count being the infestions.

Great job there. Depending on how 8th edition goes, I will borrow these ideas you have. Thank you for sharing. Really like them.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

I think you may have an objective marker problem .

I sculpted and cast a bunch of these mushrooms for another user a few years back, and put a set together for my own Ork objective markers.

Then I also put these together for another user.

I just found them in my old bitz box. I think they came from either the fortress of redemption or imperial sector building sprues.

Yep! I converted plastic stealth to use Crisis suit burst cannons, so had the stealth ones left over. Just a matter of flipping the parts around a bit.

Imperial sector box set looks nice, always wanted to build a medium size manufactorum on a base, but went another way and bought a few boxes of some of the new game workshop stuff instead and some older more expensive models, next year most likely will buy one, hopefully GW won't randomly discontinue them in that time.

Love these. Objective markers can make all the difference imaginatively to a game.

I really should be all over the 40k objective market scene but for some reason all my objective marker love has gone to Battletech single-hex micro scale objectives. Bunkers, comms tower, fuel yard, that sort of thing. Not sure if that's really what you want to see.

Well thanks, I really appreciate that. I'll post this one just by way of example.

This little fuel yard is made up of lots of bits of junk. The big tanks are some upturned birthday candle holders with the spikes cut off. The fence is a stack of regular paper staples. The gate is some plastic net from supermarket garlic. The trees are bits of tree roots (they make the best miniature trees) the little guy is a z-scale figure.
Most all of my objectives are made of junk, some have bits of recycled 40k bits which you might recognise. Glad you enjoyed the gallery. I've been working on some hex-map airfields, bridge, factory and radar station too recently. I'll post pics when they're painted up.

Still no 40k objectives in my collection. I should get to work.

An awesome Tyranid objective would be a guy in a blood stained lab-coat carrying a large formaldehyde jar with some kind of Nid-foetus in it.

Neat! These are all really cool I've been meaning to make some objective markers for my exodites actually. Got some trees on the way for a cool idea I had

Basically, the native Indians used to (probably still do) hang up animal skulls they'd hunted on specific trees in each territory. This acted as both a warning to invaders, and a method for letting others know which animals were available to hunt (and how many had been hunted recently, preventing over-hunting).

As my exodites hunt humans, I thought I'd do a similar grimdark thing for them...

Ooo well nice jealous of your turret, always wanted to make a set of 3 as alien style sentry guns to use in citys of death, but could never obtain the bits needed, cool comms array, again you have something i would like to make, likely make myself in the future but would scratch build a dish and use a bigger base when i eventually make my one, lacking aerials atm but they could be improvised.

Damn thats some good recycling yeah seen a door off an old imperial tank on the drinkcaps bunker as doors, look perfect in scale for the little bunker, garlic net - i have some of that in my bits box also its going to turn into 40k style fences in the future, when i get back to terrain that is,several small 40k armys to paint before that.

As for the tyranid idea sounds awesome as it would likely look, but bit much conversion for me to do at the moment, but has given me a brainwave of small tyranid bits floating in funky colored goo in lab jars as objectives, will use clear pen tube sliced up with some tiny control panel and some reinforcement on both ends of the tube, have to wait on that one though, after a few more squads are painted will likely generate another 10,or more unusual and or different looking themed objective markers to add to my growing collection.

Suddenly predator jumps into my mind, remembering it's thing for trophy skulls,am aware of such hunting totems in tribal and warrior squads/groups,sounds like its going to turn out creepily morbid,be great for more than one army to orks and as you said humans and dark eldar would look appropriate especially for marking territory or for a backround when taking pictures.

Non related to the above replys, voted on a few pictures of anyone that posted there markers on here, since i have not seen a bad one yet.

I like these. They stand out, which is nice for an objective marker. No need for them to blend in with the terrain. Is there room for a die on them?

Sort of intrigued by said project, looked into in it,and i say maybe but will be in the unknown hazy future,When i eventually get around to painting my ork army, and then to do the above would need several more ork thingys to make objective markers, have very few ork parts, not many alien objective markers either there should be more, there will be more,in time i will see to that.
