Calling all agents of DakkaDakka!

Since we have a fairly large group of Overwatch players, and possibly even more who don't make themselves known, I reckon the time has come to create a group that we can use for both regular and competitive play, to help each other out when we don't have a buddy to partner up with and don't feel like playing with (as AlmightyWalrus put it right) RNGesus.

I'll do all the admin stuff, all you need to do is sign up!

Will there be any poncey rules in this group?

Nope! The only rule I'll enforce is that of kindness to each other. Oh, and you'll need a Dakka account, of course

Will I have to be a certain Competitive rank/level to join?

Absolutely not - for the competitive side of the group, you'll only need to be within 1000 rating of the other players. And who cares about levels, right?

I'm a D.Va main. Can I join this group?

Nope; that spot's already been taken. By me

In all seriousness though, the characters that you play will not matter. However, it'll be useful if you tell me what you do play regularly so I can keep track for better matchmaking between us, if we end up with more than 6 members.

How do I sign up?

Just PM me your Battletag, and what region you play in. Simple!

I'll link each member to the others once we have a few people on the list. I say that in hopefulness - I'm unsure if this is something that everyone wants, but I'm sure we can all agree that Overwatch's matchmaking system leaves much to be desired. Plus, think of the bonus XP!

Did so to. It's rather tiresome in Solo, it's such a gamble.

The placement matches were great fun. Best matches I had even when I lost. But the ones after placing were... oh god, why... People throwing, people blaming their team, thinking they are super pro.

Super interested- I usually don't end up with a lot of 'game friends' in most games, so I'd love to do more of that stuff with Overwatch, which I think I'm gonna be in for the long haul with.

Play in N.A., East Coast if that's a thing.

I "Main" Zarya, with D.VA as a followup, then Zenyatta and some others rather lower. I'm basically equally proficient with most characters except Lucio and Hanzo. I prefer Tanks and Support, however, and my instinctive playstyle is "Stand and fight then bugger off when it gets too dangerous".

I play most of the characters, but usually support, tank, or Mei. For offense I prefer Soldier, Pharrah, or Reaper.

Currently Overwatch doesn't offer cross platform play with us PC players. I will note you down on my spreadsheet and let you know if/when Blizzard offers cross play

Yeah I'm on Xbox too. I also like playing on my PC, was bummed that they don't let you. You can for some games like Gears of War 4, so hopefully more games will start doing that.

I hope so too - I will note you down as a member regardless, and hope that Blizzard has plans to allow for it in the near future

All members will be receiving a Google sheet with everyone else's tags/usernames so we can create a network between us. Make sure you PM me both your name and tag number (or just your username if you're a console player, or however it works there) so I can list it.

If you don't wish to share your tag on that sheet for whatever reason, do let me know; rest assured that it will only be shared with other team members if you're worried about security.

Does Overwatch on Xbox give you a tag number? Our Battlenet tags go like "Example#0000" - I'll need that number if you have it

Yeah, I'm PC as well. That's probably an important thing to note. I am incredibly annoyed by the lack of cross-platform, if only because a ton of people I know irl play, but they're all on console. It's nutty.

The argument can be made regarding controller precision. No offence to the console players here, but I wouldn't want to play comp games with people who use a controller over a keyboard/mouse

Quick play would be fine though

I have a pretty high end PC but I perfer consoles for gaming because sofa > cheapy desk chair

After sitting at a desk in an office all day long, I just don't wanna sit in front of my PC when I get home. I do agree a keyboard + mouse is better though.

I totally get that, Necros - I've only had my PC for just under a week, and the neck strain I'm getting is not encouraging me to play as much as I could on a sofa with my old PS3

Hey guys, there's this cool thing you can do with a PC. You can hook it up to your television. Then, you can put your Keyboard on your lap, and put a board with a mousepad next to you on your sofa arm.

Unless you're using laptops, like me. But I'm gonna build myself a new desktop soon enough.

Just sent everyone the "roster" so far for adding each other's tags; I will update when/if we get anyone else coming in, but hopefully that's a start.
