4 games in and I'm loving the mechanics and the strategy of it. As usual, I'm never satisfied..., I wanted to expand on the game. It doesn't lack anything at all, I'm just like this.

Obviously the game, setting, images and concepts are GW's IP/Copyright. I have not connection to them at all and I'm doing this for personal enjoyment only, perhaps I may even buy more miniatures because of it... I'll host any files and just post mock ups and screen grabs here if the Admins are okay with it?

I'd really like some feedback from the community on this. It's early days and it needs to be tested by more than me.

Wych Cults (V0.3)
Follow the standard rules for creating your Gangs and Murder Packs.

Infantry: When not on a vehicle Wyches have a move of 0-6”(on terrain only), an agility of 7 and may make any turn they wish. In addition hits against them receive a +1 kill modifier and all weapons they carry change their arc to “Any”

A Wych is armed with a splinter pistol and a wych blade. Any model may swap their weapons for one of the following; hydra gauntlets (+5pts), razor flails (+5pts) or a shardnet and Impailer (+5pts). The Hekatrix may swap their wych blade for one of the following; agoniser(+5pts), power sword (+5pts).
Vehicles: Wyches may take Jetbitkes, Skyboards or Venoms. All Wyches must either pilot vehicles or be passengers on them.

Leap
A Leap is a special attack made by wyches. the Wych launches herself at an opponent or piece of terrain as they fly past them. it can be used to seize a spire or, if they are trully graceful knock an opposing pilot out of their vehicles and take control of them for their murder pack. A Leap has a range of 6" and has a hit roll based on the type of vehicle or scenery they are attempting to get onto. Roll 2D6 and add the Wyches level.

If they fail the roll then the wych missed their target an is now falling to their death. If successful the wych makes an immediate combat attack with the targets agility halved (rounding down). While engaged in this manner the target vehicle may not change speed, turn or make ranged attacks. If the pilot of the target vehicle is killed then the Wych takes control of that vehicle for the rest of the game.
Leaping into a Venom requires the attacking player to roll to see if they leap onto the Venom or into the transport platform

Entangle: A vehicle that has become entangled reduces it agility by half (rounding down). Infantry that is entangled may not move or make attacks against others. Models can free themselves by making a successful hit against an agility of 8+.

The Venom Assault Transport:
Fast and powerful the Venom is the transport of choice for Wych cults. It is armed with a Splinter pod in the front arc.

Vehicle Options: The Venom requires a pilot and can carry up to 5 additional passengers in the rear platform. The splinter pod can be replaced with a Splinter Cannon for (+10pts). In addition the Venom can be equipped with bladevanes (+5pts) and/or a pintle mounted Splinter Canon* (+20pts, front and side arcs) and one of the following weapon options; cluster caltrops (+15pts), grav-talon (+5pts)
*Pintle mounted weapons can only be used by transported models. The pilot cannot use it.
Large: Given its size the venom has a Kill Roll modifier of -1
Transport: A venom requires a pilot but can take up to 5 additional models in it's rear platform.
Hitting a Venom: Given the size and the open transport platform attackers have a chance of hitting either. Roll to hit as normal but if successful roll a D6 and consult the table below to see wether the attack hits the Venom or the passengers. Randomise the hit against the passengers if they are hit. If the Venom does not have any passengers the hit automatically strikes the Venom.

Manoeuvres: Wyches piloting a venom may make the following manoeuvres; Brake Turn, Half Loop, Side Slip, Slash attack (if armed with bladevanes), Grab (passengers only). Wyches on jetbikes or skyboards can make all of the manoeuvres listed for reavers and hellions respectively.

Super happy to see someone come up with extra stuff.

I played my two games (review below this) and did like it. I did feel like it needs more to really be a full, good game though.

No reason you couldn't post your own creations. Its only bad if your calling it your own, or trying to sell it.

Your Wychs are very interesting. I don't know if they quite fit the setting, at least for now. I like them, I just think they add a bit to much and can complicate things or slow the game down as is. Might be better to focus on vehicles first.

I will focus on the Venom for my thoughts.

I would make it a AGI of 5 as its bigger then a jetbike with a underslung gun.

I would also say it has a transport of 3 additional bodies instead of 5. I know its 5 in the game but in pictures and such it has 3 usually.

Your table is good on who gets hit

I would say the venom gets to make 2 attacks a round. One attack from the venom itself, one attack from someone manning its weapon. ontop or if no weapon was bought, a passage can attack with one of their weapons

In place of wychs I think maybe scourges would be the next thing to make

@str00dles1 Thank you for the feedback, this is exactly what I was hoping for. You raised a number of good points and I hope the below explains my thinking.

That was my initial worry too but after a couple of games it really didn't make much of a difference, I tackle that in more detail on you point about Venom shooting below. Having the wyches allows the infantry rule which feeds into both the Scourges murder packs, using larger spires and Kabalites/Harlequins. The leap rule is, I feel, in keeping with their MO. If it is a question of why are the Wyches up there among the spires? Training? Retribution?

I would make it a AGI of 5 as its bigger then a jetbike with a underslung gun.

Anything below 6 seems to turn the Venom into a paper aeroplane, even with the -1 to kill rolls. I think I have not played enough games but I'm open to reducing it.

I would also say it has a transport of 3 additional bodies instead of 5. I know its 5 in the game but in pictures and such it has 3 usually.

Originally I had it set at 4 but I felt that it's fluffy to have it at 5 and that you didn't need to carry five if you didn't want to. It also leaves space for a "capture and carry" style mission.

I would say the venom gets to make 2 attacks a round. One attack from the venom itself, one attack from someone manning its weapon. ontop or if no weapon was bought, a passage can attack with one of their weapons

Yeah this gets into why I felt I had to add Wyches. 1) they came with the kit and 2) tackling passengers and gunners. The pilot fires the underslung weapon and/or additional weapons. The pintle mounted cannon can only be fired by a passanger.
In terms of passengers and shooting I thought that as there will only be 2-4 vehicles in a Wych cult force that allowing all passengers to shoot would be okay in terms of game play and speed. I've not found it too onerous in the couple of test games I had as I only had to move 2 vehicles and most of the passengers had a range of 12" for shooting. if you arm the wyches with CC weapons the game is even faster until you get into Leap range... then it's hilarious.

In place of wychs I think maybe scourges would be the next thing to make

Scourges are indeed next on my list (this coming Sunday if I can get time) and will come with rules on larger spires. After that I think Kabal will get some love and then Harlequins.

I totally mind blanked on the rule I thought for the Venom in my original posting.

Lets say the max passengers were 5 still plus a driver. Driver can shoot its weapon and the Pintle mounted gun can be shot by one crew member. No other attacks, unless you rather use a close combat weapon of a wych inplace fo the Pintle.

With AGI of 5, and a basic guy, youd need 6's to do special maneuvers. 7s with a experienced, and 8s with your leader.

Maybe movement is 4-10? It not being as fast as a Skyboard?

Id give it a rule of damage capacity 2. Meaning it needs two kill successes to be brought down. Still easy to hit being 5 Agi, but with -1 to the kill and needing 2 kills on it makes it tougher. Just a thought.

Ill have to check out the wychs again, maybe do a test game with them to see how they work.

For scourges, since they fly, my ideas are their arc is 360, can move 360, maybe 0-6 movement (as their wings let them hover) high agi, maybe 8 or 9, but kill is +2 or something.

Official Harlequin rules to appear in March's White Dwarf. Awesome stuff.

I wonder if harlies will be their own faction, or be for a third player or be a third faction controlled by both players like the tzeentch followers in silver tower. Definitely curious to see how they expand on this game.

Eventually seeing scourges, and maybe craftworld/corsair jetbikes would be cool.

I haven't picked it up yet cause I blew all my money on prospero and blood bowl but i'll be getting it asap.
