What would people think of using kurnoth hunters as bloodbowl treemen? I could use ents but the bases would be far too big for the board I feel

They certainly look the part, once you snip those weapons off.

Assuming those are 40mm bases they would be fine.

They're on 50mm bases, though they look pretty weedy to be Treemen. Treemen are S6, that's higher than everything other than a Deathroller, higher than Kroxigor, Trolls, Ogres, while also having only M2.

They're magic! that's how you justify anything in this game, even this guy being S5 when he's no bigger than an Orc.

Or you just scratch build one with a narrower stance that's taller, taking the face/head from another model to save yourself sculpting those bits Treemen are pretty easy to sculpt. Make a skeleton out of wire, throw some greenstuff roughly over it and carve what looks like bark in to it, then use sausages of greenstuff to give it some bulk and use the head and branches from those hunters or the actual treeman model to give it some detail.

I'm actually using kurnoth hunters as treemen in my halfling team in a local league, and everyone agrees they do look the role. You only need to cut off the weapons, get several arm pose options, and they even fit in 40 mm round bases (I think 2 of the leg options could fit in 32 mm bases, but haven't personally tried).

I agree they might look a bit dynamic for an AG1 MA2 player, but pull off the ST6 look, mainly because they are really tall. IoB rat ogres barely reach their chest, with the new BB black orc blockers barely reaching their waist. They are easily twice the height of BB humans.

I gave it a shot and the two in more agile poses fit nicely on 40s. I just have to hope to roll for more movement on the table if they get a roll on it :-D

You know what's hilarious? A Treeman with Jump Up.

Also, twice as likely as getting +MA.
