In the Realm of Ghur, in the rocky mountains north of the Ghurland Plains, a realmgate stands alone on the vast plateau, a silent sentinel overlooking the savage lands. The cold wind howls, the mountain moans, and the realmgate shimmers to life with a deep crimson glow, like a vicious beast opening its maw. From the portals crimson jaws a man strides forth, long black hair adorn in bones, armor made from the exotic hides, held aloft in his hands a wicked axe blackened with blood, burning runes dance across its blade. He was Yarl Aldawulf, chieftain of the DarkWolf tribe, known across the mortal realms as the slayer of beasts and collector of pelts, he believes that wearing the skin of great beasts will grant him strength and favor among the dark gods.

The warriors of the DarkWolf tribe share the fanatic devotion of collecting animal totems of their chieftain. Shields, weapons, and clothing all adorn with animal pelts and bone trinkets each carved with wicked runes as tribute to the dark gods of chaos. The tribe not only believes that wearing the skin and bones of beasts will make them stronger, they also fight along side a menagerie of twisted creatures, from the swift chaos steeds their horsemen ride into battle to the wickedly cunning warhounds that feast on the carnage wrought by their fury, they even host a herd of Razorgor that slam into their enemies formations like living battering rams. Their savagery knows no bounds and they charge their enemies with reckless abandon, they carve their way across the mortal realms seeking glory of the hunt to please their dark lords.

Yarl Aldawulf has visited the Realm of Ghur many times as it is home to a great number of monstrous beasts, creatures worthy of offering to the dark gods. But he is not the only hunter in these lands, the massive Ogors stalk these mountains bringing a mighty blizzard wherever they go. Yarl ventures to claim these hunting grounds for himself and to do so he must destroy the Jotun tribe who call these mountains home.

Battle Summary is written as a narrative.

The Beastclaw Raiders were quick to muster their forces first, Vrogkra Beastgust on his massive Stonehorn accompanied by the Thundertusk Beastriders drove straight into the horde of marauders crushing the warriors under hoof and bashing them with massive horns, their tribal banner was not enough to sway the warriors into facing the monster and many flew from the battle, but the tribesmen of the Darkwolf knew the creature would make a grand offering to their dark gods, they screamed as more charged into the flanks surrounding the beasts, hammering and hacking with their vicious weapons. It took a long doing but the warriors managed to slay the two behemoths and their riders, but at a great cost, only eight survive the vicious combat.

While the melee took center stage, the horsemen of the Darkwolf tribe circled around the right, charging towards the Yhettees who attempted to attack the rear of the marauders. The large group of horsemen slammed into the beasts hacking with axes and kicking with their steeds, but the monsters were toughened from surviving years in the mountains and their magic frozen weapons proved to be more than the horsemen could handle and were struck down within moments. Their kin took note of this and proceeded to out maneuver the beasts, pelting the monsters with their javelins. While this worked for a while, the swift Yhettees managed to catch up to their foes and dispatched a squad that got cut off and slowed down by a rocky outcrop. The other horsemen did better in maneuvering the treacherous terrain and managed the slay two of them from afar, feeling brave or perhaps filled with blood-greed they charged in to finish their foe, three of them were cut down before they could fell the last Yhettee.

Yarl Aldawulf had a different idea than face Vrogkra, his warriors could face colossal beasts that lumbered across the battlefield, he would charge across the left flank towards the Frost Sabres, ready to add more pelts to his collection. The warhounds raised by the Darkwolf tribe were always half-starved, this made them more deadly in battle. They saw Yarl as their pack-leader and answered only his commands. They chased after their master, knowing that were he went blood would flow and they would soon be eating fresh meat. While Yarl thought the Frost Sabres would be a quick kill, they proved to be a worthy hunt, even as warhounds surrounded the sabres, biting and clawing at them they stood fast and in a whirlwind of claws and fangs the cats fell half of the warhounds number before Yarl's wicked axe cut them down.

On the far end of the battlefield Bruskard Icemaw stalked his next meal, he was a loner at heart and didn't relish the large battles as much as his Vrogkra did. But when he saw the two massive boars wading across the battlefield, he knew a feast was to come. He crept across a hidden path, being wary of wind changes, keeping himself down wind from the beasts. Midway through the battle he appeared behind them striking one in the flank with a bolt from his crossbow, as he reloaded the two beasts turned and charged him, ready to gore him with their tusks. He was a veteran hunter and had face much worse, a deft flurry of attacks with his massive club he bashed the two razorgors dead.

Bruskard looked upon the battlefield and saw Vrogkra and the others were all dead, the humans were futility attempting to skin the Stonehorn and Thundertusk with crude knives. Their leader raised a Frost Sabre pelt to the sky screaming in a dark tongue as the warhounds feasting on the remains of enemy and ally alike. But to him to wasn't a total lost, he was still alive and had his next meal. He hefted the two Razorgor onto his shoulder and disappeared into the mountains.

Result TLDR: Due to the their small numbers the Beastclaw Raiders were unable to hold any of the objectives, the Marauders held the Chaos controlled objective from the Husark on Stonehorn and the Thundertusk Beastriders, Yarl and his warhounds took the objective from the Frostsabres on the left, and the Marauder Horsemen managed to kill the Yhettees and take the right objective, the Beastclaw Raider's objective was open as Buskard was busy getting his next meal. Neither players managed to complete the narrative objective.

Score: Chaos 5 to Beastclaw Raiders 0

I enjoyed the narrative, and it sounds like a fun scenario. it's just a pity no one was able to complete the scenario goals. Is there anything you'd do differently with it?

realism is a lie

I would have probably changed it to that each of the units listed for the 'Great Hunt' would reward 1 victory point each and that each army could have elected who partakes in the hunt. This would of given the Beastclaw Raiders player the option to have his Icebrow Hunter attempt it (and in fact gain a point for killing the Razorgors) rather than having his Huskard on Stonehorn, whose whole person was to drive into the mass of the enemy army and hold it down.
