KFC is cooking up The Chizza, a personal pizza with a fried chicken crust

You like fried chicken. You like pizza. So why wouldn’t you want to try KFC’s new Chizza?

In a world where combining foods is always cooking up new options sure to bust your gut, like a chalupa made out of fried chicken, KFC is putting together the combination of its signature fried chicken and pizza in hopes of satisfying all of your cravings in one bite. The successor to KFC’s Double Down is The Chizza, a personal-sized pizza with a crust made out of fried chicken. But if you want to sink your teeth into this new menu item, grab your passport. For now, The Chizza is only available in Asia.
The pizza, er — chizza — is still essentially a personal-pan pizza with the traditional fixings with mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce with a slice of ham and pineapple slathered in KFC’s special cheese sauce. (Yummy.) There is apparently an option to get a more traditional topping like pepperoni on your chizza too, although the combination of fried chicken, ham and pineapple sounds delightful.
For now, there is no timeline for seeing this menu item pop up at your local KFC location in North America, but it may just be a matter of time if it is a hit in Singapore. That should give us enough time to figure out if the proper pronunciation is “chih-za” or “cheet-za.” After all, how do you pronounce pizza?

there's a vid at the link showing the engendering of this...this.... whatever it is.

Looks like a version of chicken marinara. I just realized chicken marinara with a little pineapple might be awesome.

They are going over the top with the marketing to make it sound worse then it is.

If you look at something like chicken parm, what do you have? Fried chicken with marinara sauce and some cheese on top. How different is this? Add a little ham and pineapple.

The double-down was all about the same thing. Using shock tactics to sell and drive interest. If you plated it differently, it would be just another chicken dish. But once you start talking about replacing bread with fired chicken, it starts to sound crazy.

Chicken marinara can be awesome. I wouldn't trust it to KFC though.

How about replacing a taco shell with fried chicken? Are we entering crazy territory then?

There are apparently plans to sell the thing with ground beef inside too, in case you really want to challenge your plumbing system.

That just looks like fried breaded chicken with cheese melted on it. What's not to like?

I guess my objection is not that chicken parmesan is anything radical, even if you add ham and pineapple (which sounds pretty bad to me), but how gross it looks in the picture. Usually pictures make food look delicious; that just looks nasty.

Sig worthy.

Also, the true sign of the end times is that the best name they could come up with for this was the "Chizza". I mean, it makes me think of a "Cheesa", which I'm not sure what it is but I want it and it should have alot of cheese I guess? It doesn't make me think of Chicken though.

I also like Chicken Parm.

This is probably also a good representation of what arteries may look like after eating too many of such things....

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V
